3 Example: Question: Discuss the theme of family in the play Everybody experiences the joys and troubles of being part of a family. Miller explores familial realtionships in his play and exposes tensions, issues surronding loyalty, honour, forbidden love, and, ultimately, betrayal.

4 Conclusion General statement – about the theme in relation to the play. You can include a personal comment here too. Particular points your essay looked at. REMEMBER: Don’t use the exact same phrases or sentences as the introduction. Rephrase ideas and use synonyms.

5 Planning 1.Pick a question. 2.List/Brainstorm/Mind-map ideas for that question. 3.Find quotations that will go with each idea. 4.Pick the ideas you will turn into PEE paragraphs and put them in the order you want them to be in your essay. 5.Write!
