2 Slide 2 Lake to Lake Route Potential Connections and Branch Opportunities  A cycling/multi-use route that will connect Lake Simcoe to Lake Ontario  North-south spine for development of overall cycling network and trail system in York Region  Objectives include:  Establish a signature project to focus attention on cycling  Inspire participation for health and transportation reasons  Create a tourist destination  Connection to the Greenbelt Cycling Route and create an inter-regional project that could be part of the future Provincial cycling network Lake to Lake Route Greenbelt Cycling Route Rouge Park Trail Humber River Trail Greenbelt Cycling Route Workshop – October 2, 2013

3 Adopted Alignment and Implementation Challenges Greenbelt Cycling Route Workshop – October 2, 2013 Slide 3  Regional Council endorsed alignment and target construction over next 5 years - June 27, 2013  121 km (with 92 km in York Region and 29 km in Toronto)  Estimated $22M capital costs for York Region’s portion  Each segment based on local municipal design guidelines and parameters:  surface treatment  illumination  signage  Consistency in operating/maintenance level of service
