2 CONFLICT In a story, conflict is the struggle between opposing forces. It can also be thought as, the main problem the protagonist has to face.

3 EXTERNAL VS INTERNAL External Conflict takes place outside of the body Internal Conflict takes place inside of the body/mind.

4 CHARACTER VS. CHARACTER The struggle is between two or more characters in the story. External

5 Character vs. Nature This type of conflict pits a story's main character or characters against a natural force such as a flood, predatory animal, or disease epidemic. External

6 Character Against Society In many stories, the protagonist battles against element of government or culture. External

7 INTERNAL Character vs. Self When a character is struggling to overcome fear, addiction, emotional damage or other crippling personal issue.

9 STATIONS -3B At each station is a scenario Read the scenario out loud with your group In your notebook under your notes: Identify the conflict Provide evidence for that conflict
