1 Executive Director May Report Personnel Update  Sharon has rejoined the finance team YAH!!  Yvonne DeLorme has been working with Liz in ACC. She is an intern from Urban Circle.  Jacob Carson, a coordinator for ABP, will be taking a one year leave to further his studies in Education. A job posting will go out this weekend.

2 Organizational Work  Staff retreat agenda was included in your package. It was included so board members could assess their interest in similar sessions.  SEED’s audit will start June 6 th and we hope to have a first draft by the beginning of July.  Request for proposals were sent to three auditors for future contracts. One declined. Interviews should be mid-June.  End of the year reports are being compiled. BDS report was included in package. ABP 4 th quarter is ready to be given out.

3 Organizational Work  Canada Revenue Agency Audit Concerns Raised  Support for home ownership – Asset building  120% of LICO for eligibility Assessment  Support letters and documents being compiled as part of strategic response  Aboriginal Community Collaborations and social work Advisory Committees met to review past work and future plans.

4 Partners & Collaborations  Asset Builders Founders group (SEED, ACU & United Way) met to review the past year accomplishments and plan for future funding. One new site will be joining. Two sites will expand. Housing IDA expansion will be curtailed until we complete review with CRA.  Neighbourhoods Alive Tax Credit was announced at the “soon to be site” of the L’Arche Foundation café. SEED was thanked for their support in speaker’s remarks.  SEED has given a number of workshop presentations at the University of Winnipeg (3) and Vision Quest

5 Partners & Collaborations  SEED has approached United Way about potential for funding to expand our work with Children of the Earth and the Aboriginal Senior’s Resource Centre. Proposal is being developed to include other schools and train-the trainer for COTE students.  Yolom Mayaetik funds will be returned and they are looking for other potential partners  Louise is in Toronto as part of national advisory group designing evaluation process for financial literacy training and RESP project

6 Financial  The province has asked SEED to consider providing coop housing group development services for both identifying possible projects and then working with the group and site developers. Province would fully fund position and other expenses  SEED has received notice of funding for its “Strengthening Families in Canada Financial Literacy Project”. This project is in partnership with Mount Carmel Clinic and funded through SEDI’s TD Financial Literacy Grant Fund.  Tachane Foundation requested a meeting with SEED on June 10 th to discuss future funding. Tachane previously funded Diversity and the eco-guiding project and were very excited about the recent Globe and Mail article
