Don't post your personal phone number and use privacy controls to limit who can access your webpage, so strangers don't have access to your personal information.  Simply doing these things will help you to being safe on any social network.

3.  Do not under any circumstance give out personal information to anyone you do not know personally.  Do not accept others as friends if you do not know them.  Do not leave comments on others pages that list specific and personal information about you.  If you ever decide to meet someone from a social network, do not go alone.

4.  Because social networking sites such as Myspace.com are designed for the sharing of personal information and the creation of new friends and acquaintances, it makes a ripe target for sexual predators and other criminals looking for victims.  Pass this information along to love ones and friends to make sure that they know that they must be safe.
