2 StrengthDescription of StrengthExplanation of Strength STRSTR 1. ReboundOur forward Ross collects the defensive rebound as he jumps up high and collects the ball in two hands, protecting the ball and securing possession. Our forward Ross is able to do this effectively as he is tall and strong. This stops the opposition attack progressing any further and gives the rebounding team an opportunity to start an attack. ENGENG 2. SpeedOur point guard Myles dribbles the ball down the court at pace. Two players Ross and also have good speed and are able to support the point guard in attack. By getting down the court quickly it gives the attackers a chance to score before the oppositions zone defence gets back increasing the chances of scoring. THSTHS 3. Lay-upThe point guard, Myles, passes to one of the forwards who comes towards the basket from a wide position and scoring an uncontested lay-up. The lay-up is used as it is a high percentage scoring opportunity and there are no defenders between the forward and the basket.

4 WeaknessDescription of WeaknessExplanation of WeaknessEffect on performance if performed correctly WEAWEA 1. Outlet Pass Although our forward Zeesh collect the rebound and secures possession his outlet pass is inaccurate. The outlet pass either goes to high so the point guard Myles can’t catch it or it does not reach Myles as the pass is not fast enough. Possession is lost and the attack is over. The opposition either have possession in a scoring area or it is there side ball where they can set up another attack. Once the point guard Myles is out wide and shouts ‘ball’ loudly. Zeesh should pivot to the open side quickly and make a quick clean accurate pass to Myles. KNEKNE 2. Dribble Down The Middle Our point guard Myles collects the outlet pass and dribbles down the side of the court at pace. This only gives Myles one passing option, to pass inside. This makes it easier to defend against. Myles should dribble down the middle of the court so he has an option to pass left, right to either forward or go himself. SSESSSES 3. Decision Making Our Point Guard Myles gets into the last third of the court and makes the wrong decision. Myles does one of two things he either passes to a forward that is being marked or goes himself when he is marked and his teammates are unmarked. This causes a shot under pressure with the chances of missing higher. Or slows the attack down which gives the defenders time to get back. Or possession is lost. Either scenario fast break finishes. Myles should commit the first defender and pass to the unmarked forward making a 3v2 into a 2v1 and giving the unmarked forward an uncontested lay- up.
