2 MEI: A Multi-Track Diversity Certificate Program Companion to the existing MEI: A UCR Diversity Certificate Program Six to eighteen-month program Multi-track diversity program Initially offered to supervisors Unique Certificate Program

4 Description of the Program Five core workshops Eight different tracts Each focuses on specific diversity and cultural elements Many currently exist at UCR already

5 Program Implementation Conduct Needs Assessment of supervisors Use results to prioritize course development Develop and implement the courses

6 Program Implementation Identify supervisors to participate in a pilot Certificate Program Evaluate effectiveness of Certificate Program Communicate results to other supervisors and to the campus

7 Potential Obstacles and Their Solutions Risks Certificate can be time consuming 6 to 18-month timeframe may be viewed as too lenient (and not taken seriously) Difficulties setting up internships
