6 He was born in Blanca on 10th August 1944

7 When he was ten…”That thing turned out to be a kind of marvellous talisman. It saved my life.” His first box of oil paintings.

9 “When I was fourteen, Amparo Benaches came to the village (…) She said that I had to go to the Fine Arts Academy. I was with my eyes open wide”

10 He joins in the Fine Arts Academy of San Fernando in Madrir to start his artistic training on 25th of June of 1965. There he stood out because of his high qualifications in all the subjects.

11 1969 – He obtains a grant given by Foreign Affairs Ministry for landscape painting in the Fine Arts Academy in Rome.

12 1976 – He makes his first trip to South America, in a journey that goes from Mexico to Brazil. He was impressed by the American continent.

13 1984 - He moves to New York, where he lives in the East Village for five years.

14 1986 – Blanca’s honorary citizen.

15 In 1988 he projects the stage design for Bertolt Brecht’s Galileo Galilei, in Rome’s Theater, in the play directed by Maurizio Scaparro. He was so successful that even the same director invited him a year later to design the costumes for the play based in Margarite Yourcenar’s “Adriano’s memories” in Villa Adriana.

16 Between 1991 and 1992 he travels and draws his impressions of Egypt due to a journey along the Nile river (Aswan, Dendera, Esna, Edfú) and Yemen. He discovers the beauty of clay and stone architecture of some of the most beautiful places in the world.

17 His picture ‘ Hug of Pope John Paul II and cardinal Wyszynski' of 1980, takes part since 2003 of the Vatican’s heritage, in its contemporary collection of art 1980-2003.

18 “Identity in transit” «An army of men and women, all of them seen backside and with no necessity of showing their faces to tell us through their bodies and gestures about their experiences in life. The body is a very strong portrait of ourselves. There’s no need to see the face to know who the person is.»
