Any person being towed behind a watercraft shall wear a buoyant belt or PFD while being towed except for a performer engaged in a professional exhibition. If the PWC has a lanyard type engine cut-off switch, the lanyard must be attached to the operator. 18

In Arizona, simultaneously committing two or more of the following is RECKLESS OPERATION: -operating within 60 feet of another boat above wakeless speed -operation in vicinity of a motorboat that obstructs visibility of either operator - heading into the wake of another boat causing ½ or more of the PWC to leave the water - maneuvering quickly, turning sharply or swerving within 60 feet of another vessel 19

MUFFLING EQUIPMENT Mufflers are required to prevent engine sound level in excess of 86 DB measured at 50 feet or more from the watercraft. 20

Providers offer these programs in classroom, home-study, and online NASBLA approved courses.
