3 OVERWEIGHT Medical term for being 20 pounds or more over your ideal weight. Increased risk for Cardio Disease, Diabetes, and Cancer

4 OBESE Medical term for being 30 pounds or more over your ideal weight. Increased risk for Cardio Disease, Diabetes, and Cancer

5 FITT PRINCIPLE Exercise program components to meet physical needs of exercise each week. F =Frequency-Number of times per week. I = Intensity- Moderate or Vigorous T = Time- How long you do the activity T = Type- Cardio, Muscle Build, Bone Build

6 CA FITNESS TEST Cardiovascular- Mile Run- HFZ <10 minutes Muscular Strength- Push-ups HFZ >8 Muscular Endurance- Curl-ups HFZ >35/min Flexibility- Trunk Extension- HFZ >9 inches BMI- Ht and Wt,- HFZ < 25 Arm Flex- HFZ- Touch left & right behind back

7 FREQUENCY RECOMMENDATIONS Cardiovascular- 3-5 times per week Muscle Strengthen- 2-3 times per week Bone Build- 2-3 times per week

8 HEALTHY FOOD CHOICES Control portion sizes Low salt diet Eat 50% vegetables each meal Eat Seafood Low fat food and dairy Limit soda and sugary drinks Eat lean protein
