2 There may be a gap between perception and reality when we talk about the impact of immigration on the UK population. Looking at the relevant statistics for 2007, we can see that there are “new citizens” and workers from EU countries. There were 690,013 live births in the UK in 2007: 23% of all births in 2007 were to mothers who were not born in the UK. Report: Impact of Immigration in London

8 This report provided an overview of attitudes toward immigration in Britain. The discussion focused on five general questions: our survey asked people from different cultures their opinions on immigration and integration and positive and negative aspects. Most of the interviewees do not seem to be interested in the issue. This is not related to a lack of awareness, but to the fact that they are used to living in a multicultural society. Asking people about their views on immigration raises some perplexities because of the complexity of the definition. CONCLUSION

9 One of the interviewees talks about the Britain policies that often refer to subsets of migrants who have taken a specific path to entry the country. For example, those who come to the UK with job offers might be treated differently by the government policy. The reaction of the people asked about the positive and negative aspects of migration is the same: they are positively-viewed. To evaluate the idea of integration, it is critical to have comparable data from different cities, on national and international levels.
