1 Holiday Festivals & Events of North Carolina By Kelly Hines’ 4 th Grade Class Chocowinity Primary School

2 Christmas Town USA A Christmas town with lights McAdenville, North Carolina Monday- Friday 5:30- 9:30 Sunday and Saturday 5:30- 11:00pm 1956-2008 53 years old It has Christmas lights up and makes houses look pretty. It’s fun to visit because you get see the lights on peoples houses and you can watch the lights blink on and off.

3 Tanglewood Festival of Lights Clemmons, NC Nov.15 - Jan.1 Since 1992 to2008 It gives horse rides and hay rides. It has low prices.

4 APPALACHIAN SKI MOUNTAIN NEW YEARS EVE CELEBRATION In Appalachian Ski Mountain New Years Eve Celebration, they have a big party. They have everything from elegant dinners to the most beautiful fireworks.

5 Designing Arts & Crafts A competition where you try to beat others with your Arts & Crafts. North Carolina Fairgrounds 1025 in Raleigh,NC. Friday,November 28,6pm-9pm,Saturday November 29,10am-6pm,& Saturday 30,11am- 5pm. It has been going on for 38 years. They launched a program called Masterworks where members will be pushing the edges in craft.You can learn about arts & crafts of Christmas because you can learn to make clay jewelry, medals, sculpting, glass, furniture and more.

6 Christmas at Biltmore In Biltmore It is until January 4, 2009 It has been going on since 1895 The cool things about it is the Biltmore house I would want to go there because there are 100 decorated trees more than 1,000 wreaths and bows 1,800 poinsettias, miles of garland and thousands of ornaments They also always have very good Christmas.

7 The Carrousel Parade It is a parade. It is in Charlotte. It is on Thanksgiving. It has been going on since 1870. I would want to go there because it looks fun and it has Santa Claus.

8 The National Gingerbread House Competition It is a competition for people who build gingerbread houses to win prizes. It is in Asheville, N.C. It is on any day of the week. It has been going on for several years and it’s even on t.v. The cool thing about it is they make the gingerbread houses colorful and it looks like a popup book.We want to go there because they have a lot of categories and it would be cool if we could see a real gingerbread house that looked like the one we picked out.

9 Christmas Flotilla It is a parade of boats that are decorated in Christmas lights. It is in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. It is on Thanksgiving. It has been going on for 26 years. The boats are decorated out of lights. To see the lights and ride the boats.

10 Enchanted Airlie Garden It is a garden It is in Wilmington It has been going on for 3 years The Bottle Chapel is a beautiful sight at Christmas time When you ride the through the garden you would like it

11 American Music Jubilee At Selma, N.C last’s from 12/8-12/23 At the performance you could hear great music and comedy You can see lots of characters and have fun with the cast of 13
