Sermon by Pastor Andy

1. On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, 2. and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3. When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.” 4. “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.” 5. His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

6. Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. 7. Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim. 8. Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” They did so, 9. and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10. and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”

The five “ I” keys to Your Miracle from the wedding at Cana.

John 2:1-2 On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. - If we want to experience miracle, we must first invite Jesus into our daily lives. - Jesus was invited to the wedding at Cana.

John 2:3-4 When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.” “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.” The second step for miracle is to intercede before the Lord, and to make our requests known to Him.

John 2:5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” The third step is to be taught obedience to the commandments of the Lord.

John 2:6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. The Lord uses instruments to perform His miracle. At the wedding in Cana the Lord used the water jar that was available to perform the miracle.

John 2:7-8 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” Here Jesus intervened and performed the miracle by turning the water into wine and His disciples believed in Him.

What I want you to take home with you from this message is this. Jesus is tied to the events of your life. He is not just some remote supernatural being who is totally removed from our need. He cares about the smallest details of your life (Matthew 10:29-31), and waits for you to call Him into your life so that He can minister to you.

God works on His own schedule. God works through the processes of time and order. God is sovereign over nature. God’s purpose in working is to demonstrate His glory. The result of His work is belief in His people
