INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI-110012 Why SPFE … If the number of factors or levels increases, the number of treatment combinations increases too rapidly. As a result block size becomes large and it is not possible to maintain homogeneity with in the blocks. This may result in large intra- block variances and hence large coefficient of variation. If the number of factors or levels increases, the number of treatment combinations increases too rapidly. 13 INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI-110012 Main Features of this Indigenous Software Package … SPFE 1.0

INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI-110012 Main Features Includes … Generation of selected design Randomized layout of the design Analysis of the data and Probability calculation

INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI-110012 Generation of the design It includes … Fractional Factorial Plans Complete Factorial with confounding Complete Factorial without confounding Balanced Confounded Designs

INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI-110012 Generation of the design Once these options are entered the design is generated. When the option Complete Factorial without confounding is selected, the user is asked to enter of Factors(n), the number of levels of each Factor(s) and the number of replications (r) required.

INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI-110012 Generation of the design When the option Complete Factorial with confounding is selected, the user is prompted to enter the number of factors, the number of levels of each factor, the number of replications, the number of independent interactions to be confounded per replication and then the independent interaction to be confounded.

INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI-110012 Generation of the design The option fractional factorial plan gives regular fractional factorial only after getting n and s. The fractional factorial are restricted for main effects and two factor interactions.

INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI-110012 Generation of the design Selection of option (iv) provides a list of commonly used balanced confounded designs. It has a facility of displaying the generated design and its randomized layout.

INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI-110012 Randomized Layout of the design It includes … Followed by randmizing the Blocks with on Replications. Randomizing the Replications first. Then randomizing the treatment combinations within Blocks with in Replication.

INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI-110012 Analysis It includes … Single Factor Multiple Factor Main Effects and Interactions Single df Contrasts User Defined Contrast Look Up Table

INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI-110012 Analysis It includes … Each of the Options Single Factor as well as Multiple Factor has two sub options - Unblocked Design - Block Design

INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI-110012 Analysis It includes … It provides the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) tables for testing the null hypothesis regarding the equality of treatment or treatment and block effects along the probability level of significance.

INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI-110012 Analysis It includes … It also gives the value of coefficient of determination, Root mean square error and General Mean.

INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI-110012 Analysis It includes … Treatment Means And Their Standard Errors  All possible Pairwise Treatment Comparisons Prob>F (v  v matrix with diagonal elements as. and off-diagonal elements as exact level of significance of the equality of corresponding treatment effects)  The critical differences at 1 % and 5% level of significance are also displayed if the treatments are equireplicated (in case of unblocked designs) and equireplicated within each block in case of blocked designs. In other words, critical differences are displayed for balanced and orthogonal data only.

INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI-110012 Analysis It includes … For Multiple Factor Experiments Based on the number of Factors and Levels, the contrast for main effects and interactions are then generated.

INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI-110012 Analysis It includes … The sum of squares of main effects and interactions are then obtained along with the probability level of significance. It package is also capable of generating the Single degree of freedom contrasts for various factorial effects using the orthogonal polynomials.

INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI-110012 Analysis It includes … The contrasts are quite useful for interpreting the results for quantitative factors when the levels are equi-spaced.. The sum of squares and variances due to each of these contrasts are given. Moreover it also tests the significance of user-defined contrasts.

INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI-110012 Probability Generation It includes … Probability generation by t Distribution. Probability generation by Chi-Square Distribution. Probability generation by F Distribution.
