4  Leader of the Green Mountain Boys from Vermont. They seized Fort Ticonderoga and Crown Point from the British and captured approximately 100 cannons, part of which were moved to the area around Boston to aim at the British.

28  Also known as “Gentleman Johnny”, he led the British forces south from Canada. He retook Ft. Ticonderoga using up most of his supplies. He led an attack on Bemis Heights near Saratoga. Outnumbered, he surrendered on Oct. 17, 1777 at Saratoga resulting in a huge victory for the Patriots.
