BROCHURE ON THE IMPORTANCE OF NATIVE LANGUAGE

Native language Native language is man’s most important language. It is the language of feelings and thought. Native language is the shared home of a child and a parent, with which cultural habits and traditions are upheld. Take pride in your native language! Native language is also the foundation for new languages. Rejoice that your child is learning new languages.

How can you support the development of the native language? From the birth of your child, always speak to the child in your native language, the language you know best! Make sure your child acquires a diverse vocabulary, Do not teach the child a language you do not master. Talk to your child in all situations. A child learns a language by hearing and using it. Read to the child and tell stories.

Write together letters to relatives. Do not give up if your child answers in another language. Tell the child how the matter is expressed in your own language. Do not become worried if the child sometimes mixes the languages he has learned.

Do not become discouraged if your child’s interest in his own language sometimes disappears. Continue persistently speaking in your native language, and it will not be forgotten. Give your child time; machines no not replace the interaction between a parent and a child. The better a child masters his native language, the easier it is for him to learn second languages!
