Be able to think about your story as a whole and have some ideas of what may happen
Be able to think of a problem that will happen in the story
Be able to think of a character that would fit into the setting of Hampton Court Palace

2. What does the setting look like?
Take your time to consider these questions, we will answer them in detail throughout the week;
What does the setting look like?
What will your characters be like at the beginning, will they change during the story?
What will the problem be?
How will it get solved?
How will the story end – happy, sad, cliffhanger?

3. LI: To write the start of your story
Steps to Success…
Write the start of your story using adjectives and powerful verbs to make the reader want to read more
Be able to decide which technique you want to use and start your story
Be able to share some ideas of how you could start your story

4. Remember! To describe the setting – USE ADJECTIVES;
What can you see, hear and smell?
Think about colours, textures and feelings.
To describe the main character – USE ADJECTIVES;
Male/female, Age range, distinctive features, hair/eye colour
What are they wearing?
Are they kind/mean/furious…?
What they are doing? – USE POWERFUL VERBS

5. LI:To write the build-up of your story

Use a thesaurus to make your writing as exciting as possible
Be able to write your build-up using effective wicked words to keep the reader gripped
Be able to think of some effective wicked words to add excitement

6. Think of some Wicked Words for;
Suddenly
Panic
Angry
Sad

7. LI:To write the problem of your story
Steps to Success…
Use adjectives and powerful verbs to give more impact to your descriptions
Describe what happens and how the characters are feeling
Include a problem which will be solved in your story
