2.  The author can tell his or her story in two different ways. They can write in either first person or third person.

3.  A first-person point of view means that one of the characters is telling the story. First-person pronouns such as I, me, and my are used in narration.

4.  Smart  My dad gave me one dollar bill 'Cause I'm his smartest son, And I swapped it for two shiny quarters 'Cause two is more than one!  And then I took the quarters And traded them to Lou For three dimes -- I guess he don't know That three is more than two!  Just then, along came old blind Bates And just 'cause he can't see He gave me four nickels for my three dimes, And four is more than three!  And I took the nickels to Hiram Coombs Down at the seed-feed store, And the fool gave me five pennies for them, And five is more than four! 5.  Third-Person Point of View story is told by an outside observer or character who is not involved in the story. Third-person pronouns such as him, he, she, and her are used in narration. First-person pronouns are only used in direct quotations.

6.  Tonight is the night that all dragons Awake in their lairs underground, To sing in cacophonous chorus And fill the whole world with their sound. They sing of the days of their glory, They sing of their exploits of old, Of maidens and knights, and of fiery fights, And guarding vast caches of gold.
