2 Graded Discussion Prep Compose SIX questions for discussion. These must be open-ended to allow for discussion—no plot questions or ones with a simple yes or no answer allowed!  THREE questions should be TEXT-based. These can be on theme, character, symbolism, and etc.  ONE question should be TEXT-TO-TEXT. This should attempt to make a connection to a different text.  ONE questions should be TEXT-TO-YOU. Make a connection between yourself and the text.  ONE questions should be TEXT-TO-WORLD. How does this text fit in to the bigger picture?

3 Outer Circle Participation Loss of Points Write down three questions asked in the inner circle. Record your responses to the questions asked. This will be turned in at the end of the hour for credit. If you are on your phone, you will lose ALL points for the day. You will not be informed you are losing points until the end of the hour. If you think you can’t resist, you may want to hide your phone from yourself or put it on my desk. It only takes picking it up once to lose up to sixteen points! If you are being talkative and disruptive, you will be asked to stop, you will lose ALL your points for the day, and if you continue, you will be asked to leave class. Don’t do that to yourself!
