7 Cuba  1961 – Formal diplomatic and economic relations were severed between the U.S. & Cuba  December 2014 – President Obama announced diplomatic and economic changes toward Cuba.  January 2015 – Commerce (BIS) & Treasury (OFAC) published revised regulations –Travel to Cuba for authorized purposes without the need for a license. 12 permitted conditions for travel Authorized U.S. travel service to Cuba

8 Cuba  Allow U.S. financial institutions to open correspondent accounts at Cuban financial institutions to facilitate some commercial transactions. –U.S. insurers can provide coverage.  Allow a number of other activities related to, among other areas, telecommunications, financial services, trade and shipping.  July 2015 – U.S. Embassies opened.  September 2015 – Some additional revisions to BIS and OFAC license exceptions
