3 Lesson 3 Entrepreneurs ask themselves key questions about their customer and product. Examples of those questions, such as, do people need my product or service? It is not enough to have a great product or service; customers must be willing buy it. JA It’s My Business! I Know My Customer

4 Lesson 3 What is advertising? What are the different ways of advertising or promoting your products and service? Do you advertise the same way and same method no matter who your customers are? 5 Lesson 3 Advertising -A way to tell people about your product or service - A way to promote your product or service. - Advertisers must understand the product and services they promote, while recognizing the needs of the customer. JA It’s My Business! I Know My Customer

6 Lesson 3 Rules: 1.Each group will have a Product Card. 2.Each group is responsible for creating a commercial for one of the products listed on its card, as well as presenting the commercial to other groups. 3.Content for the commercial can take many forms - song, rap, skit, or one- person dialogue. 4.Each commercial must include some information about why the seller cares about the product, why the market needs and should buy the product, and how the seller became an expert on the product. 5.Not everyone has to be an "actor" in the commercial, but all students should contribute to its creation. 6.Groups also can choose to create a slogan, a logo, a full-page print advertisement, or a direct mail ad. 7 Lesson 3 Prompting Questions Does the market really need this product or service? To whom are you selling this produce or service? Describe your customer. Do you think customers will buy the product or service based on your commercial? Why or Why not? JA It’s My Business! I Know My Customer
