5 Oils of Ancient Scriputre
In The Beginning… When God created plants it was on the 3rd day, while he created man and woman on the 6th day (Genesis 1:13, 26-31). Proverbs 21:20 – “There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise” “Oil” is specifically mentioned 191 times in the bible, but there are over 600 references to essential oils and/or the 33 species of plants they come from Essential oils are referred to as “fragrances”, “odors”, “ointments”, “aromas”, “perfumes”, or “sweet savors” --God had in mind to help us and heal us before he created us --Olive oil - There are 147 instances where olive oil can be inferred, only specifically mentioned olive oil 7 times. --Most of the oils and fragrances commonly used for medicines, deoderants, perfumes were not mentioned in the Bible since there was no theological point to it…also, the daily methods of using these oils was common knowledge. --archeological records indicate that the Babalonians, Sumerians, Phoenicians, Egyptians, Persians, Arabians and other cultures used the oils --the oils in ancient times were natural, no chemicals --beware of synthetic oils, mostly petrochemical based, unregulated in the U.S. - most perfumes don’t list all or sometimes any of the chemicals in them…could be hundreds - they don’t have to list the ingredients - you absorb them into your body, your body is a huge organ, a sponge --Essential oils dissolve petrochemicals in your body…will eat away at plastic…example, will eat a ring around a styrofoam cup --Very potent – 1 drop of Peppermint oils – 26 cups of peppermint tea

6 The Two Types of Oils Plants Make
1) Essential Created to circulate within the plant to carry oxygen & nutrients to cells Enters our blood stream and can cross the blood-brain barrier Molecules small enough to penetrate cells 2) Fatty (Olive & other vegetable oils) Do not circulate within the plant Can’t enter the blood stream or cross the blood-brain barrier Molecules too large to penetrate cells --Essential Oils The Lifeblood or resin of the plant Distilled from various parts of plants and trees They are the fragrances of creation…everything you smell in creation is an essential oil. They are not greasy but penetrate quickly into the body through the skin, nose or through ingesting them. --Some fatty oils, such as olive, contain aromatic molecules as well. The “beaten” oil of Biblical times was a blend of both types oil.

7 Significance of Essential Oils
Assist the body in detoxification, i.e. removing toxins out of the cell How? – they have the highest level of oxygenating activity of any substance known to man Oxygen helps push toxins out and helps pull potassium back in, maintaining normal cell balance Research shows that they support every body system: Immune, respiratory, excretory, skin, hair, skeletal, muscular, cardiovascular etc. --Essential oils documented to produce the highest level of oxygenating molecules of any substance known to man…so we get oxygen, negative ions and ozone --With dry herbs, you would typically absorb approx 8%, with Essential Oils, you absorb 100% of it --Essential oils are the oldest known medicine dating back to 4500 BC - In 1922, King Tut’s tomb, 322 liters of Essential Oils found (they do not expire, we know that they were obviously preserved for thousands of years) --We have an atheistic medical system (God is not usually brought into the conversation during a doctor visit) “In the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa became diseased in his feet, and his malady was severe; yet in his disease he did not seek the LORD, but the physicians. So Asa rested with his fathers; he died in the forty-first year of his reign.” 2 Chronicles 16:12–13 James 5:13-15New International Version (NIV) The Prayer of Faith 13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.

8 The Prayer of Faith James 5:13-15 NIV13
Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. II Chronicals 16: 9 9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.

9 Essential Oils and Frequency
Have frequencies from 52 to 320 MHz Our bodies are electrical – the human brain itself generates 25 watts of power - enough to light up a light bulb. Average healthy body frequencies range MHz We being feeling ill when our frequency falls below 58 --Oils have a harmonic frequency, harmonious with the electrical field of the human body. Our bodies are electrical. A light bulb is 60 Hertz. --Essential oils literally contain electrical frequency 200 subjects tested in a study Average body frequency ranges 62 – 68 Brain is 10 MHz higher during the day, and reverses during the night so body is 10 MHz higher 2 subjects each with 66 MHz - one held coffee, his frequency dropped to 58 MHz within 3 seconds (breathed the oils, and in 21 seconds his frequency went back up) one drank the coffee, his frequency dropped to 52 MHz within 3 seconds (didn’t let him have the oils, it took 3 days for his frequency to go back up) So when we do things in our lives that compromise our frequency, we can become a victim. It is documented that essential oils re-establish a normal frequency of human cells.

10 Thoughts, Words and Frequency
We get a weird ‘vibe” ….why? We have the power of life and death in our tongue. Dr. Emoto’s work with water The human body is 65% water give or take, infants are 75% We will be accountable for every idle word

11 Chemistry of Essential Oils
One drop contains approximately 40 million-trillion molecules Numerically that is a 4 with 19 zeros after it. 40,000,000,000,000,000,000. We have 100 trillion cells in our bodies So one drop of essential oil contains enough molecules to cover every cell in our bodies with 40,000 health-building molecules --Considering that it only takes one molecule of the right kind to open a receptor site and communicate with the DNA to maintain healthy cellar function, you can see why even inhaling a small amount of oil vapor can have profound effects on the body, brain, and emotions. --Sometimes too many oil molecules overload the receptor sites, and they freeze up without responding at all then a smaller amount would have been just right. This is why we say that when using oils, “sometimes less is better.” Sometimes more is better, too. Knowing the difference is the art of aromatherapy.

13 Biblical Background The original healers were priests who often did their healing in temples (Exodus 37:29; Leviticus 14:15-18) So who are the priests of today? Today we are all a royal priesthood. I Peter 2:9 In Luke 10:1-9 In the old testament the priests, who were also called apothocaries or perfumists, were responsible for growing, gathering and distilling essential oils. They also applied them for healing and cleansing. Exodus 37:29 is the holy anointing oil Leviticus 14: Anointing ear, thumb, toe. Today, what is the ultimate temple in which we all must worship? Whose duty is it to keep it clean, attractive and in good condition? Therefore, who is the priest of your temple and who must care for that temple?...We must Not all denominations believe in healing and anointing, but for those who do they can be sure that In Luke 10:1-9 we read that Jesus appointed his followers (not just the chosen twelve) and sent them to “heal the sick.”. We are called to anoint and heal, but God is the only source of true healing

14 Royal Priesthood God’s word gives all of us authority to anoint:
I Peter 2:5 “Like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” I Peter 2:9 we are all “A chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own chosen race…”

15 Meaning of “Anoint” Anoint means “to cover, rub or smear the head or body with oil”. The Hebrew word for anoint “masach” is very similar to the English word massage. The Hebrew term, “masach” is also the root of the term “Messiah”. Since the New Testament was not in Hebrew, but in Greek, the Hebrew word “Messiah” appears only twice in the KJV (John 1:41 and 4:25) but the Greek term “Kristos” or “Christ” appears 361 times. “Kristos” literally means “the anointed one”. Anointment means “an ointment” --Ask for a volunteer, remind them that their hair might get a little messed up. --When Aaron was anointed, it was no small amount of oil, it dripped down his beard and down off the bottom of his robe Psalms 133:1- 2 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; --Numbers 6:24 – 26  And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 23 Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them, 24 May Adnoni bless you, and keep you: 25 May Adoni make his face shine upon you, and show you his favor: 26 May Adoni lift up his face to you, and give you peace. 27 And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.

16 Bible References of Oils Impacting Our Emotions
Psalms 45: “Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. All thy garments smell of myrrh, aloes, and cassia out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad. Proverbs 27:9 -- “Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart” ( Solomon said this) Isaiah 61:1, 3 -- “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings to the meek,.. to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning.” Hebrews 1:9 -- “Thou has loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness.” --The writers that God used for these and other scriptures knew that certain fragrances and oils made them happy, brought them joy.

17 Oils and Emotions A JOYful heart is good MEDICINE, but a broken spirit dries up the bones. Proverbs 17:22 Nehemiah 8:10b The JOY of the Lord is my STRENGTH

18 Oils Impacting Our Emotions
The four senses of touch, taste, sight and hearing do not directly stimulate our emotions They pass their signals to the frontal lobes of the brain 1st and reach the emotional brain 2nd. Your nose is wired different Smell travels to the emotional brain 1st, stimulating emotion, and then passing to the rational brain 2nd. The intellectual brain is located in the frontal lobes, the mass of neural tissue in your forehead and temples. Whenever you are trying to remember something, you instinctively tap your forehead when the intellectual brain is located. “Jogging our memory,” we call it. Ever have a certain smell that takes you back, remembering a time in your life or a place? The emotional brain functions both electrically and chemically via hormones. We all know from personal experience that hormones have a great deal to do with our emotions. So it is not surprising to learn that the emotional brain secretes hormones with the intellectual brain does not. The emotional brain has another interesting property: It does not respond to words that are read, spoken, heard, or felt by Braille. It responds to smell.

19 How to Get Oils Quickly Into the System
When you breath it in, it is picked up by the neurons that hang down from the olfactory between the eyes on top of the sinus cavity, those oil molecules are carried within milliseconds into the center of the brain (now they have found and discovered that the inhalation of essential oils into the mid-brain system will cause a secretion of antibodies instantly, endorphins & neurotransmitters). So we are seeing a direct response on the immune system from the inhalation and topical application of essential oils. --diffusing puts the oils in the air (Study showed that diffusing oils into the air killed 210 out of 210 bacteria colonies) Makes the most perfect air purification system that has ever been invented or rediscovered. 21 The Aroma of Essential Oils
The aromas of the oils touch our emotions in ways that cannot reach them by any other means. When the are things about our health we do not understand, they may stem from buried emotions. If so, essential oils can assist in releasing such blocks to our health and happiness. Recommended books A More Excellent Way by Henry W. Wright Feelings Buried Alive Never Die by Karol Truman Releasing Emotional Patterns with Essential Oils by Carolyn Mein, D.C (Dr. David Stewart recommends) --Think of the central brain as a librarian that files and catalogues our emotional memories. Our body is the library. Whenever we experience an emotion, the central brain takes it in and files it somewhere in your body. It could be in your heart, your intestines, your lungs, a specific joint or muscle, or some organ like the liver or kidneys. In order to recall and access that memory, the emotional brain (the librarian) has to locate it in its card index and call it up from wherever it has been stacked in your body. It can then pass it on to the frontal lobes of your brain where it can be consciously recalled, re-visualized, re-experienced, and/or articulated. --We store both pleasant and painful memories. Emotions that we have faced, accepted and dealt with are stored as intellectual memories. Such emotions are resolved and we have grown spiritually through the experiences that brought them to our awareness. We can recall such memories in detail, but they do not control us, give us pain, or make us sick. --Emotions that we have not faced, accepted, nor dealt with are stored as repressed emotional energy, waiting for a future time when we can deal with them. Repressed emotions are unfinished business. They are lessons unlearned. They are assignments we have not yet chosen to accept. Since they are filed in our bodies in places of which our conscious mind ins not aware, they keep us reminded of their existence in a variety of negative ways. They can cause pain, illness, disease, and malfunctions of any and all levels—physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual. --This is why essential oils are so valuable in releasing emotional patterns that trouble us, affecting our health and our behavior in ways we do not seem to be able to control. We will not go deeply into this subject here, but there are two books and seminars on the topic. --Lest you think this a bit strange, the peoples of the Bible seemed to understand this and diffused the fragrances of a variety of essential oils in their homes and synagogues and rubbed them on their bodies as well. --The Biblical writers may not have understood how aromas feed directly to the emotional brain, but they knew by experience, led by God, that certain perfumes, ointments, and incenses brought joy to their hearts, relived their stresses, brought them peace and calmness, clarified their thinking, uplifted their spiritual awareness, and assisted them in their prayers, worship and daily living. --Does anyone ever push your buttons?...or you really get upset by what someone says about you?...do you have that emotional button that can be set off by what others say?...some of you may not even consciously know about them, but these resources will help you identify those issues.

22 Method for Inhaling Oils
Put a drop of oil in the palm Careful, as some oils are thin and come out of the bottle FAST! Make several clockwise circles with your fingers Rub your palms together and cup them over your nose and mouth (avoiding your eyes) inhaling the vapors Please respect the precious oils being passed around, trying to avoid getting the oil on the outside of the bottles, and taking only a drop. If you ever get an oil in your eye, use olive oil to dilute it, not water!

23 Oils of Joy Psalm 45:7 suggests that among the oils of joy were myrrh, aloes (sandalwood), and cassia. Many other oils in biblical times were also mood elevating. Young Living’s oil of Joy® is a blend of essential oils used in biblical times including rosewood, jasmine, and roman chamomile. Also contains oils not known to be used in biblical times including bergamont, mandarin, lemon, ylang ylang, geranium, and palmarosa. Contains rose oil. This oil has the highest electromagnetic frequency of any known substance (320 MHz) --It takes pounds of organic rose petals to produce one pound of rose oil. So it is very precious. This is also why we should ensure that the oils we are using are organic. --Some people taking antidepressant drugs have found JOY to be mood elevating and have been able to reduce their dependence upon pharmaceuticals by diffusing JOY, rubbing it on their bodies and/or directly inhaling it --A state of cheerfulness is elevating to the immune system, helping to protect you from many illnesses. Thus, our emotional state is a key element to our state of health and to the healing of disease. Of course a positive mental attitude must also be accompanied by right habits of healthful living according to God’s laws. --Some suggest that this blend could be used to keep away the blues

24 Healing Oils of the Bible
Ezekiel 47:12 – Along the banks of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month, because their water flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine.

25 Exodus II Very similar to The Holy Anointing Oil, used by Moses
A blend of oils, all of which are mentioned in the book of Exodus, except Spikenard Modern science shows us that this blend contains immune-optimizing compounds --We use Exodus II for supporting the immune system in winter or anytime, throat health etc. --Tastes great in a glass of hot apple cider! Or just plain! --Closest blend to the Holy Anointing oil used on the priests and on every article of the temple Exodus 30…. 22 Then the Lord said to Moses, 23 “Take the following fine spices: 500 shekels[d] of liquid myrrh, half as much (that is, 250 shekels) of fragrant cinnamon, 250 shekels of fragrant calamus, 24 500 shekels of cassia—all according to the sanctuary shekel—and a hin[ of olive oil. 25 Make these into a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer. It will be the sacred anointing oil. 26 Then use it to anoint the tent of meeting, the ark of the covenant law, 27 the table and all its articles, the lampstand and its accessories, the altar of incense, 28 the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the basin with its stand. 29 You shall consecrate them so they will be most holy, and whatever touches them will be holy. 30 “Anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate them so they may serve me as priests.31 Say to the Israelites, ‘This is to be my sacred anointing oil for the generations to come. 32 Do not pour it on anyone else’s body and do not make any other oil using the same formula. It is sacred, and you are to consider it sacred. 33 Whoever makes perfume like it and puts it on anyone other than a priest must be cut off from their people.’”

26 Thieves* A blend of highly revered and powerful essential oils, many of which have been used from ancient times. The name “Thieves” comes from a group of 15th century thieves who rubbed oils on themselves while they robbed the bodies of the dead and dying. Optimizes a healthy immune system When they were caught, they were offered a more lenient punishment if they disclosed their formula The Jewish practice of sacrificing animals on the alter of the temple on a regular basis could have created an environment that promoted disease and epidemics among the priests and the people, yet that never happened. WHY NOT? (Exodus 30: 22-31) – God gave Moses an anointing oil that sanitized on a daily basis which may have also supported their immune systems to maintain their strength. Western medicine used to have a very high infant and mother death rate until they figured out that doctors needed to wash their hands before delivering the next baby…which just so happens to be what is recommended in the book of Leviticus, in the Levitical laws of cleanliness

27 Three Wise Men An oil blend that contains Frankincense and Myrrh, two of the gifts that the 3 wise men brought to the Christ child All oils in it are mentioned in the Bible, except Spruce Spruce was used during Biblical times by soldiers to give them courage when going into battle Valor is a blend that has a high concentration of Spruce, and is supportive of making emotional changes and giving courage. Supports energy alignment. 3 Wise Men™ promotes feelings of reverence and spiritual awareness with a blend of therapeutic-grade essential oils formulated to open the subconscious. This blend, considered a gift by many, enhances emotional equilibrium as it soothes and uplifts the heart. Valor® is an empowering blend that promotes feelings of strength, courage, and protection. Valor is also believed to support energy alignment. Bobbi uses for skin care

28 3 Important Constituents of the Oils
Phenylpropanoids (phenols) – May assist in cleaning /detoxifiying the receptor sites on the cells. With clean receptor sites cells can communicate, and the body can more easily maintain it’s vibrant health. Sesquiterpenes – Deliver oxygen molecules to cells, like hemoglobin does in the blood. Can also erase or deprogram miswritten codes in cellular memory. Have the ability to go beyond the blood-brain barrier. Monoterpenes – Reprogram miswritten information in the cellular memory (DNA). With proper coding in cellular memory, healthy cells can now replicate healthy cells. --Essential oils can actually optimize the body’s ability to make healthy cellular changes…sometimes the responds immediately in what we call mini-miracles. Phenols – the # 1 constituent that is responsible for the oxygenating activity of oils --If you want to get more in depth on the chemistry, see the book, The Chemistry of Essential Oils Made Simple, easy reading in layman's terms.

29 Aloes/Sandalwood John 19:39 - “And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pound weight.” ***worth $150,000 – $200,000 in today’s market*** Modern Uses Skin Care – moisturizing and normalizing May be relaxing in the evening Uplifting Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood (Santalum paniculatum) has a rich, sweet, warm, and woody aroma that is sensual and romantic. The S. paniculatum tree is native to and found only on the island of Hawaii, where Young Living has a partner farm that practices sustainable reforestation farming management principles. Used traditionally as incense in religious ceremonies and for meditation, this oil is uplifting and relaxing. It is valued in skin care for its moisturizing and normalizing properties. pounds of aloes and myrrh would be worth $150,000-$200,000 in today’s market. --The incredible value of these spices demonstrates two things: 1) The wealth of Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea must have been incredibly great Their respect and reverence for their Lord and Savior must also have been very great Proverbs 7:17 “ I have perfumed my bed with Myrrh, Aloes and Cinnamon”

30 These are two species of the same genus, Cinnamomum
Cinnamon/Cassia* These are two species of the same genus, Cinnamomum Cassia was a key ingredient in the temple incense. “All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.” (Psalm 45:8) Ancient uses: Holy anointing oil, perfume Modern Uses: Helps maintain normal blood sugar levels Supports health immune function simply by ingesting them or putting them in a hot/cold beverage May assist in “getting one in the mood” Cinnamon Bark essential oil promotes a healthy immune response, and helps maintain a healthy lifestyle regimen*. Cinnamon has been used traditionally for thousands of years as a spice, and provides a spicy and delicious addition when cooking or baking. This oil includes the naturally occurring constituent cinnamaldehyde, and is an important ingredient in many Young Living products including Thieves®, Abundance™, and Inner Defense™. --Suggest that people only inhale these two, inasmuch as they can be caustic and irritating to the more sensitive areas of the skin --Works on warts, which is a virus --Cassia is one of the 2 oils that can eradicate the herpes virus in studies. We’re not saying Young Living ‘s cassia will do that, just might be interesting to check out those studies.

31 Cedarwood 2nd Highest of any oil in Sesquiterpenes (98%)
King Solomon’s temple built from the Cedars of Lebanon Ancient Uses: Skin, Calming, Embalming, Modern Uses: Keep clothes fresh Supports Healthy Skin Supports Age Related Hair loss Relaxing in the Evening Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica) essential oil’s woodsy, warm, balsamic aroma can be added to your favorite skin care products and applied topically. This essential oil includes sesquiterpenes and its powerful scent creates a relaxing, calming, and comforting atmosphere when diffused. Cedarwood is an important ingredient in Brain Power™, Grounding™, Highest Potential™ Essential Oil Blends, and Cel-Lite Magic™ massage oil. --How many people have Cedar chests? Ask them Why? To repel moths they will say. The oil in the wood and the scent stays in the furniture indefinitely, for the life of the wood. --In Leviticus there is a cleansing ritual for Leprosy where Cedarwood and hyssop oils are used and applied to the tip of the right ear, the right thumb, and the right toe. In reflexology and emotional release, that portion of the ear is where one releases and resolves issues regarding their parents. The thumb and big toe are the trigger points for clearing fears of the unknown and mental blocks against learning, while the big toe is a point for clearing addictions and compulsive behavior. The scent of Cedarwood can help clear buried emotions, including feelings of pride or conceit. -- Emotions not dealt with eventually lead to illness -- King Solomon built his temple and palace out of the Cedars of Lebanon. Thus, his places to live, govern, and worship all had the vapors of Cedarwood oil in the air. Cedarwood contains the highest concentration of sesquiterpenes of any known substance. Sesquiterpenes oxygenate the brain and support clear thinking. Perhaps he knew of the aroma therapeutic benefits of cedar and applied that knowledge in building his palace and temple.

32 Cypress Cypress oil mentioned in a Babylonian tablet dating 1800 B.C.
Modern Uses: Comforting during the winter season Refreshing Restores feelings of security and stability Beneficial for oily or troubles skin Cypress (Cupressus sempervirens) is especially comforting during the winter season. Its fresh, herbaceous, slightly evergreen aroma is refreshing and restores feelings of security and stability. Cypress is also beneficial for oily or troubled skin. Cypress has an approximate ORAC of 243,120

33 Galbanum Exodus 30:34-35 – And the Lord said to Moses: “Take sweet spices, stacte and onycha and galbanum, and pure frankincense with these sweet spices; there shall be equal amounts of each. You shall make of these an incense, a compound according to the art of the perfumer, salted, pure and holy.” Modern Uses: Supports the immune, digestive, respiratory, circulatory and other body systems. Aid for troubled or mature skin Occasion minor muscle discomfort associated with exercise May minimize age related wrinkles Galbanum (Ferula gummosa) has an earthy aroma. It was used in ancient temple ritual incense anointings associated with springtime. Galbanum supports the immune, digestive, respiratory, circulatory, and other body systems.* It is also useful as an aid for troubled or mature skin. Galbanum has an approximate ORAC of 261,826  --Galbanum is in the parsley family and has an earthy, parsley-like smell that is emotionally grounding --Stacte is another name for myrrh. It is the only essential oil used in both the holy anointing oil and the holy incense. The reason for this is probably because myrrh is the most commonly used fixing oil of ancient times. Fixing oils are combines with other fragrances to make them last longer.

34 Frankincense Modern Uses:
Matthew 2:11 – “And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshipped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense and myrrh” Modern Uses: Research “Boswellia Carteri” and Boswellia Sacra” Promotes positive thoughts Supports healthy skin Inhale frankincense essential oil after lunch to spiritually refocus Rub frankincense essential oil on the bottom of your feet to help alleviate nervous energy. Frankincense (Boswellia carterii) includes the naturally occurring constituent boswellic acid, and has a woodsy, warm, balsamic aroma. Diffuse Frankincense during meditation for grounding and purpose. Applying this oil topically may help smooth the appearance of healthy-looking skin, and is excellent to use for massage after activity. --Mary and Joseph would have appreciated this gift as the anointing oil for newborn sons of kings. They would have understood how and when to use this oil. Hence, they would have understood it as a gift for them to use to protect Jesus and keep him strong and healthy. The wise men would not have had to explain these things to Mary and Joseph because it was common knowledge back then. --Egyptian tradition considered frankincense to be one of the most versatile and powerful oils. --Frankincense is in many modern day perfumes and colognes, including Old Spice The Holy Incense and the Plauge ----Numbers 16:46-50 – “So Moses said to Aaron, “Take a censor and put fire in it from the altar, put incense on it, and take it quickly to the congregation and make atonement for them; for wrath has gone out from the Lord. The plague has begun.” Then Aaron took it as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the assembly; and already the plague had begun among the people. So he put in the incense and made atonement for the people. And he stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped.” --This was the holy incense from Exodus 30: 34-36 --Isaiah 60: 6 – “The multitude of camels shall cover your land, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all those from Sheba shall come; they shall bring gold and incense, and they shall proclaim the praises of the Lord” The majority of the time “incense” is mentioned it is usually referring to Frankincense --Also mentioned in the bible as a food additive Frankincense is mostly monoterpenes which as an anointing oil embraces God’s image is us. Gen 1:26

35 Hyssop Exodus 12:22 – “And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two basin doorposts with the blood that is in the basin...” John 19:29; Psalm 51:1-4; Psalm 51:7 Ancient: Addictions and destructive habits, purify from sin Modern Uses: Emotionally calming Noted for its purifying properties. Hyssop has an approximate ORAC of 209,167 Hyssop (Hyssopus officinalis), a biblical oil that was also sacred to ancient Greeks, has a fresh, woody scent that is slightly sweet. Hyssop is noted for its purifying properties. Hyssop has an approximate ORAC of 209,167 --God’s instructions were to strike the doorpost with the hyssop branch. This would have released the essential oil onto the door. Thus the fragrance of the hyssop was a part of the ritual to cause the evil spirit of death to pass over the Israelites that night. (How many times have we read this and overlooked “Hyssop”?) --John 19:29 - “Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth” Psalm 51:1-4 – Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your loving-kindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions, And my sin is always before me. Against You, You only, Have I sinned, And done this evil in Your sight-That you may be found just when you speak, And blameless when You judge.” Psalm 51:7 – “Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.”

Not saying that doctors or modern medicine is bad, there is a place for that also. When God created this world, he created everything naturally for us, and he gave us every substance that we will ever need to protect our bodies from all the things that we have to deal with, just like he gave the Israelites.

44 Things to Look for in Essential Oils
Need to be stored in dark glass Beyond Organic The only ingredient should be the specific oil No preservatives / chemicals (For a true pure oil, no preservatives are needed and no expiration date) Extracted by steam distillation at minimal temperatures and pressures with optimal timeframes No chemical solvents should be used in the distillation process --Molecules will expand in clear glass when exposed to light --Watch out for variations of oil names (lavender / lavendin) --Read the fine print, even if it says organic, “sometimes uses synthetic ingredient when nothing available”. --Watch out for oils that say “scented with…”
