4. The Name It Got Ф Jonathan Pierce proposed to change the name to ‘‘Thank God’’ Ф But the United States Postal Department decided not to. Ф It turned out to be named Blessing.

5. Population Ф Blessing was a single town at first. Then slowly people heard about the city. Ф In 1909 P. Ansley established a local newspaper. Ф This structure pulled people to the city.
