Title: Type: Arial Size ： 30-32pt Color ： The theme blue Text (1-5 Level): Type ： Arial Size ： 28~12pt Color ： Black G91, B170 G137, B207 G174, B239 G171, B189 Motivation 3 Based on CDG document, by 2016, 4.6 billion shipped devices for smart systems and over $750 billion in smart systems and value- added services revenue are expected.  M2M devices and applications  Multiple applications in smart phones, such as Instant Messaging (IM), emails, stock, etc. which have similar characteristics as that in M2M applications Given the benefits of spectral efficiency, ubiquitous coverage, low latency, high security levels and low total costs of ownership, CDMA has become a good choice for smart devices and applications.  1x/HRPD dual mode devices prefer to transmit the packet data through cdma2000 HRPD network. Some enhancements in 1x, such as lower-rate data support, should be considered in HRPD.  Some operators will re-deploy their CDMA spectrums when they move their current networks to 4G LTE. The available resource for CDMA might gradually decrease. More optimization for spectrum efficiency and transmission efficiency should be considered.
