2  In our introduction to parallel force problems, we ignored the mass of the plank the painter was standing on.  Center of gravity of an object is that point at which all of its weight can be considered to be concentrated.  In solving parallel force problems, we will represent the weight of a body as a vector through its center of gravity.

3  A carpenter stands 2.00 ft from one end of a 6.00-ft scaffold that is uniform and weighs 20.0 lb. If the carpenter weighs 165 lb, how much weight must each end support?

4  Find the magnitude, direction, and placement (from point A) of a parallel vector F6 that will produce equilibrium in the parallel force diagram below.
