Luke 10:1-9

Luke 9:2 (ESV) He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal. Luke 9:6 (ESV) They departed and went through the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.

Luke 10:1-4 (ESV) After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go. 2 And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. 3 Go your way; behold, I am sending you out as lambs in the midst of wolves. 4 Carry no moneybag, no knapsack, no sandals, and greet no one on the road.

Luke 10:5-9 (ESV) 5 Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house!’ 6 And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, it will return to you. 7 And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house. 8 Whenever you enter a town and they receive you, eat what is set before you. 9 Heal the sick in it and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’

1 Picture Tract With Notes 1.Hi, I’m _______ and this is ______ and we are out talking to people about God today. 2.Do you have any spiritual interest? 3. What is your spiritual background? ----- ------Memorize above this line and read below this line if needed---------- 4.Do you feel that you are close to God, far from God, or somewhere in the middle? 5.We are sharing a couple of practical steps that you can take to get closer to God. Would you like to hear those? If at any point they say they are not interested say, “OK, can I give you something to read then?” and give them a tract and a Life Book.

2 It all starts with the fact that God loves you and wants to have a close relationship with you.

God Sin 3 The 1 st problem is we all sin against God, (Romans 3:23) and that sin separates us from Him. (Isaiah 59:2)

God 4 If we don’t deal with our sin before we die, we end up in hell. (Matthew 13:49-50) The 2 nd problem is that the penalty for sin is death. (Romans 6:23)

God 5 We try to make things right with God by doing good works, but those good works are never enough to pay the death penalty for our sin. Our good works always fall short of God’s perfect standard. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

God 6 The solution is that God sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross and pay the death penalty for us, so that we don’t have to pay it ourselves. (Romans 5:8)

God 7 We respond to Jesus by making up our minds to turn from sin, and believe in Jesus for salvation and eternal life. (Mark 1:15, John 3:16)

8 When we turn from our sins and believe in God’s Son, Jesus Christ, three things happen: 1) Our sins are forgiven 2) We begin a close personal relationship with God 3) His Holy Spirit comes to live in us (2 Corinthians 5:17) (Ephesians 1:13)

9 If you shared the Gospel say: 1.Does that make sense? 2.Do you have any questions? 3.Is there any reason why you wouldn’t want to turn from sin and put your faith in Jesus today? No matter what they say: 1.We are starting Discovery Bible Studies in the area, would you be interested in that? 2.If God could do any miracle for you, what would it be? 3.Can we pray for you? (Pray for the miracle and for general blessings.) 4.Make sure they got a tract and a Life Book. 5.Get their contact info and make some notes if they have any interest in a Bible Study.
