2 Log On Procedure Go to Destiny and then click the Visual Tab….

3 Log On Continued From this screen you will need to click on the “Noodletools” icon Noodletools

4 NoodleTools Registration From this screen you will choose the : Current Users: Sign in at the top right hand side of the page.

5 New User Registration You are going to click on Create a Personal ID on this screen.

6 New User Registration cont. You will need to select the option that says: “An account linked to a school/library subscription trial” and then click “Register”

7 Username and Password You will need to complete the username and password using the this information: Refer to the handout given to you by the Librarian for access information.

8 New User Registration: About You Select: “I am a student or library patron” and select your graduation year. You will need to enter your personal ID, which should be the same as what you use to sign on to the school computers You will also need to enter you first and last initial as well as the last 4 digits of your phone number. It does not matter which phone number you choose to use.

9 Create a New Project You will need to create a “New Project” before you can do anything else within NoodleTools. Create a New Project

10 Projects Style: MLA Advanced – it default to this, if it does not then choose it. You will choose this for all of your projects! You will also need to give your project a name, which you enter in the “Description” box and then click “Create Project”.

11 Dashboard You will be able to list the specifics about the project you will be working on for further reference. Research Question Thesis Statement

12 Components/ To Do List This is the area where you will log your works cited information. You may also choose to use the “notecards” section if you teacher permits electronic notecards.

13 Create Citation You will choose the source (book?, magazine?, website?, electronic resource?) of your citation from the dropdown box and click “Create Citation”.

14 Create MLA Citation Choose the option under: “We think you probably mean…” and press “next”.

15 Create MLA Citation cont. Continue answering the requested information.

16 Entering “Basic Information” Based on choosing an “editorial”, you will need to enter the “Basic” information that is requested. Once you have entered all of the required information, select “Check for Errors” and then “Generate Citation” at the bottom of the page. The more information that you are able to provide, the better the citation!

17 First, find an article and click citation in EBSCOhost or another school database. Click paste citation at top of Noodletools page. You can also add a citation from a District database by using the “cut and paste” option. 1. Magazine article you found. 2. Click on Cite 3. Scroll to MLA and highlight and copy the citation Open your project - drop down to “magazine”- click create citation and then continue. Then you click “Copy& Paste A Citation”

18 Paste copied citation, correct any errors in Citation and then Submit. Paste here and edit if needed. [NOTE: The author should not be in all caps – fix this if it is!] Click submit

19 YOU ARE NOW AN EXPERT IN NOODLETOOLS CITATION CREATION. END You’ve done it!
