1 Fun Facts about the United States  The world’s highest roller coaster is located in Ohio.  The First U.S. capital city was New York City.  The center of the U.S. is in the town of Rugby, North Dakota.  The wettest place in the world is Mountain Waialeale in Hawaii.  More breakfast cereal is made in Battle Creek, Michigan than any other place in the world.  In Nebraska, you can still see the tracks of wagons from over 100 years ago.  The only palace to have been used by a British monarch in the U.S. is located in Honolulu, Hawaii.  Although English is the most commonly spoken language in the U.S. and the language used in government, the country has no official language.  The deepest lake in the U.S. is Crater Lake, located in Oregon. It is 1,932 feet and is the seventh deepest lake in the world. Tourist Sites in the U.S.Our President- Barack Obama President Obama is the 44 th president of the United States of America. He is also the first African American to hold the position. He graduated form Columbia University and Harvard Law School. He is a member of the Democratic Party and served three terms in the Illinois Senate. He signed the economic stimulus and also the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act in 2010. He lives in the White House with his wife, Michelle, his two daughters, Malia and Sasha, and their new puppy. New York City- It is the most populous city in the United States. When visiting New York City, you can see several tourist locations such as the famous Time Square where the New Year’s Eve ball drops and Central Park. It is also a short ride to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Washington D.C.- It is the capital of the United States. Here you can visit the Lincoln Memorial, the Tomb of the Unknown Solider, the Washington Monument, and even take a guided tour of the White House. Yellowstone National Park- It was established in 1872 and is America’s first national park. It is located in Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. Yellowstone is home to many animals like grizzly bears, wolves, bison, and elk. Old Faithful is one of the biggest geysers.

I’ve currently been to 2 of them!  Wisconsin is nicknamed the Badger State.  In 1882, the first hydroelectric plant in the United States was build at Fox River.  The first practical typewriter was made in Milwaukee in 1867.  Noah’s Ark in Wisconsin Dells is the world’s largest water-themed park.
