6 Using Excel Open the ‘beginning Excel’ spreadsheet Work through the activities in school pairs

7 Tracking for a purpose Browse the tracking folder. For each file, how does the data support: The student The class teacher The subject leader SLT

8 So… Tracking Attainment and Progress Teacher Assessments Tests/Exams Homeworks Projects Controlled Assessments What are the key drivers for each subject? What are the key drivers for each intervention group? What will feed into whole school tracking? How do you maintain the integrity of shared data? What’s the point??

9 Big picture Collect data for a purpose: to know where pupils have come from, to know where they are now, to know where they should be heading, to know whether they are on track. Analyse data for a purpose: to measure past success, to identify trends, to identify pupils needing support, to plan effective support.
