4 Need exists to create space in the master schedule that
allows time to implement enrichment, extension, and intervention in Reading. Index: 1, 2, 3 Critical Success Factor: Quality instruction, Quality data to drive instruction, Increased Learning Time Annual Goal: Develop and implement campus Master Schedule to include 30 minute Personalized Learning Time. Strategy: Create and implement a Master Schedule that will include a thirty minute Personalized Learning Time during the instructional day for effective delivery of Reading intervention, enrichment and extension. How will addressing this need impact the index/CSF or major system identified? Providing all learners, including struggling learners, with increased instructional time focused on specific skill deficits using appropriately leveled text will work to meet individual needs resulting in increased student achievement.

5 Improved Reading Performance – Actions Quarter 2
Goal: Continue to implement campus Master Schedule to include 30 minute Personalized Learning Time Interventions Grade level PLCs meet at the end of each six weeks. PLCs will review effectiveness of the schedule and make any necessary adjustments. PLCs will evaluate student readiness and performance data, and adjust flexible groups based on identified skill deficits. One teacher per grade level will deliver Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI) to Tier 3 readers during PLT block.

6 Improved Reading Performance – Actions Quarter 3
Goal: 100% of classroom reading teachers will implement Personalized Learning Time (PLT). Interventions Administrative team will do focused walk-thrus aligned with PLT expectations. PLCs and Data Teams will monitor student progress, determine deficit student SE's and skills for intervention, and adjust flexible groups based on readiness and skill deficit.

7 Improved Reading Performance – Actions Quarter 4
Goal: All subpopulations meeting 70% on Reading STAAR Test. Interventions Teacher, student, and parent conferences will be conducted to include progress measures that are not met on STAAR data in grades 3-5. 9 Instructional practices need to align with the rigor of the
Mathematics content and process standards and learning targets. Index: 1,2,3 Critical Success Factor: Improve Academic Performance, Quality of Data, Leadership Effectiveness, Quality of Instruction Annual Goal: To increase STAAR Math raw scores from 2015 by 10% in grades 3-5 in 2016. Strategy: Provide professional development focused on clarity of rigor with both content and process standards, as well as intentional professional development supporting implementation of best instructional practices. How will addressing this need impact the index and CSF identified? Because of lack of clarity of the rigor of the content and process standards, instruction is focused on middle to low performance standards. As a result, students are not meeting expectations, nor are they being pushed to achieve advanced levels of performance. By focusing on the standards, unpacking the TEK to determine rigor, and vertically aligning in grades K -5, instruction will be delivered in a more intentional and rigorous way, ultimately increasing student performance levels.

10 Mathematics Instruction – Actions Quarter 2
Goal: 100% of the teachers will be trained to unpack math content and process standards, and design instruction, intervention and enrichment to meet the rigor of the standard. Interventions Campus Administrators and Instructional Leadership Team will facilitate professional learning in November. Data Teams, as well as Vertical Teams, to continue to develop the process for unpacking standards, adding components for deeper alignment as appropriate. Teachers will learn how to analyze heat maps to determine deficit SE to drive instruction, intervention and enrichment decisions, as well as support small group decisions. NISD Math Coaches in grades K -5 will aid in Coaching and modeling, lesson planning, intervention design.

11 Mathematics Instruction – Actions Quarter 3
Goal: Increase percentage on middle of the year benchmark as compared to previous year's raw STAAR scores by 5%. Interventions Data Teams will meet to analyze middle of the year assessment data, and update progress monitoring system to determine areas of growth and deficit skills. NISD Math Coaches in grades K -5 will continue to assist with coaching and modeling, lesson planning, intervention design. Math Vertical Team will continue to unpack math readiness standards identified as areas of growth based on campus assessment data.

12 Mathematics Instruction – Actions Quarter 4
STAAR 2016 scores will show a 10% increase over the 2015 STAAR raw score data. Interventions Teachers will compare 2016 raw data to 2015 raw data to determine increase in performance. Teachers will reflect on the impact of the instructional changes they implemented to identify successes and opportunities for growth.

14 A process for tracking Writing SEs and using specific SEs to
Need: A process for tracking Writing SEs and using specific SEs to design responsive instruction, enrichment, extension, and assessment is still under development. Index: 1,2,3 Critical Success Factor: Improve Academic Performance, Quality Data to Drive Instruction, Leadership Effectiveness, Quality of Instruction. Annual Goal: Refine and continue to implement a system to progress monitor students with specific SE's and use data to inform instruction. Strategy: Create and implement a system to progress monitor students with specific SE's and use data to inform instruction How will addressing this need impact the index and CSF identified? The process for monitoring will provide guidelines and accountability for tracking student progress individually as well as for small groups. The process for progress monitoring will provide specific, instructional feedback driving small group instruction for both struggling and high achieving students (adding rigor and relevance to lesson design and planning). Teachers will be acutely aware of student instructional needs through comprehensive monitoring using the TEKS and targeted progress monitoring.

15 Writing Progress Monitoring – Actions Quarter 2
Goal: 100% of students and teachers will use the baseline writing stage aligned with the Analytic Writing Rubric and/or the STAAR Writing Rubric to set writing goals and develop skills during Writer's Workshop. Interventions Campus bulletin board and SBBB will be created using exemplar writing aligned with the Analytic Writing Rubric and STAAR Writing Rubric. Boards will initially display models of exemplar work. Student goal setting/data folders will be created to support goal setting process. Folders will have rubrics for students to reference as well as individual conferring and goal setting forms. NISD ELA Coaches in grades K -5 will work with teachers through Coaching and modeling, lesson planning, intervention design. Develop middle of the year writing benchmark for K-3 and 5th grades.

16 Writing Progress Monitoring – Actions Quarter 3
Goal: 100% of students will meet or exceed 60% on district revising and editing assessment, and grow a minimum of one writing stage on the middle of the year writing benchmark using the Analytic Writing Rubric or STAAR Writing Rubric. Interventions NISD ELA Coaches will work with all grade levels to develop calendar for implementing revising and editing during Writer's Workshop. NISD ELA Coaches in grades K -5 will continue to coach and model lesson planning and intervention design. Campus bulletin boards and SBBBs will be updated with exemplar writing aligned with the Analytic and STAAR Writing Rubrics with student compositions. Student goal setting and progress monitoring will be updated to reflect current assessment data.

17 Writing Progress Monitoring – Actions Quarter 4
Goal: 100% of 4th grade students will meet or exceed standard at 70% in % of K-3 and 5th grade students will meet district expectation on Analytic Writing Rubric. Interventions Student, teacher, and parent conference will be conducted to include progress measures for grade 4 that are not met using STAAR data. 19 Critical Success Factor:
Need: Science was not previously included in plans to monitor student progress. Index: 1,2,3 Critical Success Factor: Improve Academic Performance, Quality Data to Drive Instruction, Leadership Effectiveness, Quality of Instruction Annual Goal: Increase the percentage of students performing at met standard or exceeding expectations on Science to 70% in all subpopulations (2 out of 3 safeguards were below target in 2015) in 2016. Strategy: Continue to develop and implement a progress monitoring system to include Science for all students, the specifically Hispanic, Economically Disadvantaged and ELL student groups. How will addressing this need impact the index and CSF identified? Science was not included in the previous progress monitoring system, and some students fell into learning gaps, ultimately having a negative impact on campus achievement in Science. The processes in place for monitoring effectively, should be used to guide instructional decisions and provide accountability to teachers. We will continue to develop this process, to more effectively monitor student progress within all content areas and for all student groups. The process will provide specific feedback to drive small group instruction for both struggling and high achieving students (adding rigor within lesson design). Teachers will be aware of student instructional needs through more thorough monitoring.

20 Science Progress Monitoring – Actions Quarter 2
