7 Lateness to school and tutor will not be tolerated!!! You need to be at your tutor room for 8.45am. Lateness to school=15 minutes detention at lunchtime 2 lates in a week=Letter home 3 lates in a week=1 hour detention Punctuality is Important

8 Breakfast Club All students in Years 7 and 8 run their own breakfast club. Free toast and drinks

10 Uniform Pupils need to look smart when in school and within the community.

11 Coats Need to be black or navy blue No hoodies allowed

12 Shoes Shoes must be black. No trainers. Pupils will have to rent shoes from Student Services if they arrive in the incorrect uniform.

13 No Extreme Hair Styles No lines in hair or eyebrows

14 No Extreme Hair Styles Any hair colours / highlights should be natural shades or combinations of natural shades

15 Appearance Girls and boys may wear one pair of small plain gold/silver studs in the lobe of the ear. No other jewellery is allowed. Facial piercings are not allowed. Make-up, false eyelashes, nail varnish are not allowed. Coloured scarves, football scarves, football hats or baseball caps are not allowed on school premises. The school scarf and hat are available from Student Services in school.

16 Essential Equipment Your tutor will check every day that you have: –a school bag –a pencil case (pen, pencil, ruler, rubber, pencil sharpener) –your homework diary. Teachers will not be providing pens. We want to create organised, independent young people.

17 Pencil Cases You can buy a pencil case for £1.50 from Student Services in school. You will be expected to rent a pencil case for the day if you do not bring one to school

19 Student Services Room 380, by the English Homebase. Pupils can rent: A tie Shoes This is where your child needs to go if they are feeling poorly or need something.

26 ACE POINTS The ACE point system stands for ACHIEVEMENT, CITIZENSHIP and EFFORT. It is designed to encourage, recognise and reward those students who have shown that they are good Witton Park Academy Citizens. ACE Points are collected on a half-termly basis and are awarded for the following reasons: Outstanding achievement in lesson Outstanding effort in lesson Contribution to the community Helping others Each ACE Point is an entry into the half-termly lottery in which fabulous prizes can be won.

36 Good attendance is a pre-requisite for a successful school career. There is a strong link between attendance and attainment and a student who fails to attend school regularly cannot hope to achieve their full potential. Attendance is a high priority at Witton Park Academy and we expect all our students to aim for an attendance percentage of at least 97%. ATTENDANCE – Striving for 97%

37 There is a variety of schemes in place to encourage excellent attendance: 100% Attendance £10.00 Voucher and Certificate at the end of the year Entry into the 100% Prize Raffles held every term – prize £20.00 Voucher. Entry into Tutor Group Raffles every half-term. 95% Attendance and above Entry into the Tutor Group Raffles every half-term Students will be invited to take part in our end of year school trips if they meet the de-merit criteria Attendance Certificates are sent home once a year to all students.
