2 This act was passed in 1990 named for Louisiana Senator John Breaux The act’s main goal is focusing on restoration and protection of Louisiana wetlands

3 This has established the Costal Wetland Conservation Grant Program 70% funds go to the state of Louisiana 15% funds go to the Costal Wetland Conservation Grant Program 15% funds go to the North America Wetlands Conservation act Program

4 Alligator  Swamp  After Katrina  Before Katrina 

5 Produces partnerships in reducing wetland loss Provided $33-$44 million per year in funding for the Louisiana for restoration projects Provided $7-$8 million a year in funding for the Costal Wetlands Conservation Act for restoration projects

6 This act is funded through taxes from fishing equipment, import duties, small engine and motor boat fuels
