5. Lasswade WW1 Battlefields Trip 100 years ago, thousands of Scots volunteered to join the army and fight in the First World War. They were given a small payment on joining…a gesture for their bravery and a bond from their country. This was called the ‘Kings Shilling’. We are looking for volunteers to join our own Battlefields Experience in September 2016. Pick up a letter from any History teacher and you will receive your very own ‘Kings Shilling’

6. The Scottish Poppy Appeal The S6 Charity Committee will be visiting classes during registration until 11 th November. Please donate generously for your poppy. Money donated goes to Poppyscotland which is the leading charity supporting the Armed Forces community in Scotland.

7. The iPad Man S3 iPad clinic. Monday to Thursday. 1300-1345 2 nd floor Room 230 Any problems or issues, please come to see me and not during class time.

8. NEW S5 Silver Group S5 pupils who did Bronze last year and would like to do Silver Award come to a meeting at lunchtime on Thursday 5 th November in Room 105 (Not Wed 5 th as previously advertised!)

Senior Maths Challenge S5/S6 pupils who are participating in the Senior Maths Challenge on Thursday 5th November should report to the Assembly Hall at the start of Period 3 immediately after break in order to start the challenge promptly. 12. Science Club Plea! We need 4 or 5 science club volunteers to take part in an experiment on Tuesday lunchtime which will be filmed. If you are in our Edmodo group please reply to the post on there to let me know if you can come or not. If you are not on Edmodo and you would like to do the experiment then please just come along anyway. This will be from the start of lunch and will last all of lunchtime in room 124 on Tuesday the 3 rd of November THANK YOU!!!!

13. Netball Matches To the S2 (B Group) Your first match is Tuesday 10th November against George Watson’s. Please come to Room 302 as soon as possible to let me know if you can play that day. Thanks Miss Mollon

14. S1-6 Hockey club! Mr Sands and Miss Hume will be coaching a hockey club on Tuesday 3:45-5pm on the astro. Girls and boys, all ages and abilities welcome! Come along after school on Tuesday in your PE kit with shin guards and hockey sticks if you have them! Remember if you want to represent the school in tournaments you must attend trainings.
