6 Reception This is Yinka Shonibare. He is a famous Artist. He uses pointillism to create his pictures. Pointillism uses tiny different coloured dots to create images, shapes and patterns.

7 Reception This piece is called Toy Painting Yinka has used different colours to create the shapes and patterns in each circle.

8 Year 1 Faith Ringgold Faith Ringgold is an famous African- American artist who works with quilts and painting to share memories and stories. Born:8 October 1930 In Year 1, we have drawn our self portraits to create our own memories.

11 Alma Woodsey Thomas Alma Thomas was born on November 22,1891 in Georgia and died on February 24, 1978. She is an artist that made puppets and sculptures at home but she was later known for her signature style large abstracts paintings filled with dense irregular patterns of bright colours in her 70s. Year 3

12 Year 3 Alma Woodsey Thomas We took Alma Woodsey’s style of bright patterns and applied her painting style to our own work. We added aboriginal symbols to reflect journeys.

13 Year 2 Kara Walker Kara Walker is a famous African- American artist who is known for using intricate cut-paper silhouettes. We have used Kara Walkers cut – paper silhouettes technique to create our Animal Habitats Born: 26 November 1969.

14 Year 4 Faith Ringgold Born:8 October 1930 Faith Ringgold is a famous African- American artist who works with quilts and painting to share memories and stories. She also a painter, author, humanist, teacher and mixed media sculpture.

15 We made our masks using Faith Ringgold mixed media sculpture technique using different materials.

17 Year 5 Jacob Lawrence Jacob Lawrence was an African- American painter known for portrayal of African- American life. Born 7 September 1917- 9 June 2000

18 Year 6 Jean-Michel Basquiat Jean Michel Bisquiat was a Caribbean- American graffiti artist, musician and producer. Born: 22 December 1960- 12 August 1988

19 Basquiat signature painting style was of obsessive scribbling elusive symbols, diagrams, crowns and skull imagery. Our Graffiti/Street Art work is our interpretation of Jean–Michel Basquait work.

20 Year 6 Stephen Wiltshire Stephen Wiltshire is a British African-Caribbean autistic architectural artist. He is known as the Human Camera because of his ability to draw from memory a landscape after seeing it just once. Born:24 April 1974
