“…No prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” 2 Peter 1:20-21 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:16

The Law through Moses, Or The Truth through Christ?

At Mount Sinai God made a covenant with and gave a law to Israel.  Given specifically to Israel (Exodus 19:3-6; 20:2; 31:13, 17; Deuteronomy 5:2-3; 6:3; 29:1).  Moses – God’s administrator (Malachi 4:4).  Till the promised seed of Abraham came (Galatians 3:19, 24; Genesis 22:18; Hebrews 10:1; Jeremiah 31:31-32; Matthew 5:17-18).

Man is now not under the Law of Moses because Christ has come.  Jesus fulfilled all (Luke 24:44-45).  Christ’s system of faith has replaced the Law of Moses (Galatians 3:24-25).  He took away the first (Hebrews 10:9).  He has made the first obsolete (Hebrews 8:13).  We are justified by faith in Christ (Galatians 3:8, 11, 26).

Man is now not under the Law of Moses because Christ has come.  The Law, Prophets and Psalms still serve as a beneficial teaching tool of admonishment through examples (1 Corinthians 10:11; Romans 15:4; Hebrews 2:1-3).

The New Covenant is now in force because its Mediator has died.  Jesus was born under the Law of Moses (Galatians 4:4; Hebrews 4:15).  Moses prophesied of a coming Prophet (Deuteronomy 18:15; 18-19; Acts 3:18, 22-24).  A testament goes into force after the testator’s death (Hebrews 9:16-17).

The New Covenant is now in force because its Mediator has died.  Jesus –  Is the guarantee of a better covenant (Hebrews 7:22).  Is its Mediator by means of death (Hebrews 8:6; 9:15).  Has established the New Covenant with the offering of Himself (Hebrews 10:9-10).

The New Covenant is to be preached to all because it is the authority and truth of salvation.  Every person is now under Christ’s covenant (Mark 16:15; Luke 24:47; Matthew 28:18; Hebrews 5:9).  It is the truth (John 8:31-32; 17:17).  It is now for all times until the end of time (Jude 3; Matthew 28:20).
