2 He was our first president, elected in 1789. He is the only president who was unanimously voted for however he ran unopposed. Only 10 out of 13 states voted because New York had no electors, and North Carolina, and Rhode Island did not sigh the constitution yet. The vice president was John Adams. Washington was 57 years old when he was elected

3 Choosing the capitol Washington D.C. was not the original capitol it was actually Philadelphia. Washington was given permission to pick the capitol shortly after his election. They had him pick the exact location since he had known the area since he was a child. He eventually decided to have it along the Potomac River between Maryland and Virginia.

4 Twenty Second Amendment Since he was the first president he got to set the limit of presidency. He decided that two terms (8 years) was the most a president could serve making the twenty second amendment. However Franklin D Roosevelt served three full terms adding up to 12 years as president. 5 Political parties Political parties first appeared during his first term. However he did not join any. He actually greatly disliked political parties. He thought that it divided the nation and caused people to get angry at each other. He thought it would be better if we had peace and unity instead.

6 A treaty he sighed to get rid of the tension between America and England. It allowed us to peacefully trade with the British. It also stopped the British from forcing American solders to help them in their war with France.
