3  A term policy is life coverage only (RENT) On the death of the insured it pays the face amount of the policy to the named beneficiary. You can buy term for periods of one year to 30 years. Benefits  Cheap  know exact amount paid out at death  If you do not die w/in those 30 years, you have to renew your life insurance policy
