Look at the presentation for a minute, testing yourself after every sentence. Then ask a friend or relative to listen to how much you can remember

Re-write your presentation and use a different coloured pen for each section e.g. blue for where you normally go on holiday, red for where you went last year, green for who you went with etc.

Write your presentation on a large piece of paper and put it on your bedroom wall. Every evening, read through 1 or 2 sentences and try to recall them the following morning.

Write your presentation in the target language, then in English. Cut up each version, mix them up, then try to match the target language version to the English.

Transcribe your presentation into pictures and symbols and use these as a memory aide as you practice saying your presentation aloud.

Don't be afraid to make mistakes Try not to translate from the target language to English in your head Practice speaking the target language with your friends and family Review class notes Guess when in doubt Record new vocabulary and grammar in a notebook Make review cards grouping verbs, nouns, etc Write down words that you don't know, then find out what they mean. Practice daily Memorise using images, sounds, rhymes Use cognates for association with English Have a positive attitude towards class and the language Do homework Review the day's lesson after class Try not to use the dictionary too much Ask for help when you need it
