1 Unlocking the Artifacts of India By: Molly Sanders Chloe Nylund Ashlee Salzman

2 Artifact1: weights and scales Our Hypothesis- We think they are papyrus weights so the wind doesn’t make it blow that paper away. Or decorations. Archeologists Hypothesis- The blocks are paper weights and the scale is on the bottom. Connection to daily life- They may have been used for money.trade for various things. Farmers throw them out side the city for taxes.

3 Artifact 2- The Bath Our Hypothesis- We think ceremonial place where they have funerals. Our second hypothesis is a pool where people drown people. Archeologists Hypothesis- a bath that was 39 feet long and 8 feet deep. Connection to daily life- it was for bathing rituals and Hindu temples often featured.

4 Artifact (s) 3: Necklace and Bust Our Hypothesis: We think that these items are a necklace and a bust. Archeologists Hypothesis: the scientists think these are a statue and beads. That would be how the men dressed. Also, they think the statue is a king or priest. Connection to daily life:The beads were most likely necklaces, earrings, bracelets, or rings. The statue was probably a decoration.

5 Artifact 4: Rewards Our Hypothesis: We think these items could be rewards for being a savior or being brave. Archeologists Hypothesis: They think these are charms to keep away evil and they had loops on the back of them. Connection to daily life: Maybe the loops on the back were used to hang them up like decorations.

6 Artifact 5: A place of Disposal Our Hypothesis: We think it is a place to get rid of or dispose things like we would with garbage today, or like composting. Archeologists Hypothesis: They think it is a sewer system used to get rid of or store water. Connection to daily life: Getting rid of waist.

7 Artifact 5: Apartments Our Hypothesis: We think this object it a type of apartment building. Archeologists Hypothesis: They think these are houses. The house had flat roofs and had two stories. Connection to daily life: They think the poorer people lived in smaller houses. Rich people live In larger ones.

8 Artifact 7: Games Our Hypothesis: We think this artifact was games that the kids play maybe even the adults played games back then. Archeologists Hypothesis
