3 NSCL - ANASEN TRINET collaboration @TRIUMF(beta decays) SAMURAI collaboration at RIKEN Jyvaskyla (mass measurements w/ penning trap) STAR

4 Future research directions Studies of survival of excited nuclei in the actinide region with SaSSYER. Study the complexation of transactinide homologs with cryptands and crown ethers in "online" experiments Studying beta-delayed proton decays of pure Fermi Transitions with TAMUTrap Nuclear astrophysics with stable and rare isotope beams. Structure of light exotic nuclei. Clustering phenomena in light and medium mass nuclei. Studies of the EOS and Esym Pionic Fusion Superallowed  decay studies on Tz=-1 nuclei GMR as probe of structure and asymmetry Develop and apply nuclear theory of HI rxn and GR to determine the next generation energy density functional for nuclei.

6 MDM SPECTROMETER (1993, 2000) High-resolution, broad-range spectrometer. Beam analysis system provides beams for the MDM Spectrometer. FORWARD ARRAY USING SILICON TECHNOLOGY – QUADRUPOLE TRIPLET (FAUST-QT) (2013) Detection of light charged particles and intermediate mass fragments in the FAUST multi- detector array, while simultaneously collecting the heaviest fragment in the QT. K500 SUPERCONDUCTING CYCLOTRON (1987) The Cyclotron Institute at Texas A&M University operates one of only five K500 superconducting cyclotrons in the world. MARS RECOIL SPECTROMETER (1992) Spectrometer for production and separation of radioactive ions PRECISION ON-LINE g-DECAY FACILITY (1999) Isolates pure samples of short-lived isotopes for high-precision decay measurements. ELECTRON CYCLOTRON RESONANCE (ECR) ION SOURCES (2002 - 2010) Two ECR sources inject beam into the K150 and K500 Cyclotrons. A third acts as a charge breeder for radioactive beams. NEGATIVE-ION SOURCE (2010) For the production of high intensity proton and deuteron beams from the K150 Cyclotron. K150 CYCLOTRON(1967) Following 20 years off line this facility is now operational and is an integral part of the facility upgrade to make the Cyclotron Institute a dual-cyclotron facility providing accelerated secondary beams. NIMROD (1999) High efficiency detection of both neutrons and charged particles. RADIATION EFFECT FACILITY (1994, 2000) Available for commercial, governmental and educational use, the testing facility is installed on a dedicated beam line with complete diagnostic equipment and controls. With the modern K500 superconducting cyclotron and the advanced ECR ion source, a diverse range of particle beams and energies is available for radiation-effects testing. TARGET & ION SOURCE FOR RADIOACTIVE BEAMS (2011) Exotic isotopes produced by the K150 Cyclotron will be conveyed to the K500 for re- acceleration.
