3. What is a virus? Viruses are small computer programmes that are designed to spread from one computer to another, making the computer run slow, or even break completely. There are different types of virus, they are called The worm and The Trojan horse. The Trojan horse virus spreads itself by pretending to be a file that it is not.. The worm is the worst virus, for it can disguise itself as an email, or another document.

4. How to stop viruses To stop viruses, you have to download a programme, called a virus protector. Your parents will have to download the programme for you, because it has to be paid for. Virus protectors are like plasters over a cut, they keep everything bad outside, and protect it.. Not only can viruses find their way onto your computer, hackers can look at your personal information.

5. What is a hacker ? A hacker is someone who uses all different programmes to look at personal files on someone else’s computer, without be told that they can. Hackers use viruses to gain access to peoples computers illegally. If hackers do gain access to someone's computer, they can look at all sorts of personal files, such as bank details. The hacker can then let the personal information slip out on to the internet. Some serious cases of hacking, lead to them scaring the person, making you give them money.

6. How to prevent hackers There are many ways to prevent hackers, one of the most common ways, is to download a software, such as ; Block hacker. If the case of hacking becomes very serious, then you can contact the police, who will put an end to it, and hopefully find the bad person. You should always tell your parents if anything keeps popping up when you are on the computer.

7. What is a backup, and why do we need them ? A backup is a copy of a file that you have already saved. The reason that you save the file again, somewhere else is because if the computer that u originally saved the file on crashes, then you will still have a copy of it. It is also quite good to put your backups on memory sticks, or DVD’s.

8. Best places to put backups One of the best places to store backups is on another computer, or laptop. Many people also choose to use a memory stick, although they are not very reliable. Although saving your work onto a memory stick is the easiest option, if you want your work to be 100% save, I wouldn’t recommend it. Personally I would save my work onto a DVD.
