2 Admissions Requirements Tailored for specific populations of students - first- year, homeschooled, international and transfer Highly individualized selection process; each application is reviewed by an admissions counselor Academic achievement, personal qualities and intellectual promise are important components of review process 2

3 Applying to Goucher The Common Application $55 application fee or waiver Essay Official high school transcript (grade 9 and up), listing courses in progress Secondary school report with a letter of recommendation from your college counselor/advisor Recommendation letter from an academic teacher (English, math, science, foreign language or social studies) Early Decision Agreement Form (for early decision applicants only) 3

4 Applying to Goucher The Goucher Video Application (GVA) $55 application fee or waiver A video no longer than two minutes A brief application form A signed statement of academic integrity One graded writing assignment One stellar scholastic work 4

6 Misc. Interviews recommended (not required). ACT/SAT test optional AP test scores of 4 or 5 given credit placement. IB examination scores of 5 or higher in higher level subject areas will be granted credit. Successful completion of a full IB curriculum may enable you to enroll as a sophomore; course placement is at the discretion of each department. 6

7 Merit Scholarships All admitted students, who submitted a high school transcript, are automatically considered for a merit scholarship. Additional opportunities based on academics, leadership, fine & performing arts are available. Goucher students must achieve a 2.75 cumulative GPA to maintain a scholarship Scholarships are renewable and awarded for up to eight semesters 7

Make sure to list GC’s school code on the FAFSA and CSS Profile (002073 and 5257) GC will import your information GC may ask you for additional information (ex. tax forms, citizenship documents…) Admissions will will FA know of your merit award GC will send you an estimated or actual award notification (depends on timing) 19

20 Special Situations If your family experiences a recent change in circumstances (ex. unemployment, high unreimbursed medical expenses, change in martial status…) the financial aid award may be reviewed. To request a review, complete a Professional Judgment Request (found on our website) and provide the appropriate supporting documentation. Non-custodial information (needed for CSS Profile) may be waived if circumstances exist.
