2 What is she the goddess of? Diana is the goddess of woodlands, wild animals, hunting, light and fertility.

3 Animals Dogs, guinea fowl, elephant, horses, bear, dove, deer, and bee.

4 City The main sites of her temple are Brauron(which is right outside of Athens) and Ephesus(which is in Turkey.

5 Objects A symbol that is usually associated with Diana is a lunar crescent on her forehead. Also her hounds and her bow are associated with her; she used them to hunt.

6 Greek/ Roman Names Diana is her Roman name and Artemis is her Greek name.

7 Relationships Diana was the twin sister of Apollo. Her parents were Zeus and Leto. She doesn’t have a husband; she travels with other maidens of the forest.

8 Myths Dislikes men, whom she sometimes orders torn apart if they see her bathing. Opposes the institution of marriage and the subsequent loss of freedom it entails for women.

9 Other Info In the Roman language the name Diana became the word “zana” which means “fairy”.
