2 THE PRESENT SIMPLE It is the verb tense you should use in your paragraphs. It is used for facts, opinions, ideas, routines, and habits. It is often used with adverbs of frequency, such as: Sometimes, never, always, usually, every day, every year, every season, every month, every minute, every Monday, rarely, often, frequently, occasionally,

10 Present Progressive It is very useful for speaking but you will seldom use it in your paragraphs. It is used to describe what is happening right NOW. It is used with words and phrases about specific times, such as: Today, tonight, this afternoon, now, this summer, this weekend It can be used to discuss right now: Right now, you are reading these words. It can be used to discuss the near future: What are you doing this weekend? What are you doing this summer?
