6. Procedure Get materials
Wait 5 minutes WITHOUT TALKING to get a baseline temperature
Take the temperature of each participant in the study. Record the data.
Split your group into the person chewing the cinnamon gum, the person chewing the mint gum, and the person who will not be chewing gum (the control of this experiment)

7. Procedure Cont’d 5. CHEW for 3 minutes
Take the gum out of your mouth and immediately take your temperature. DO NOT TALK during this time.
Repeat steps 5 and 6 three more times, then spit out the gum.
Wait without talking for 5 minutes, then take your temperature for the final time.
Clean up your area, then finish the data table
