Elements of Photography By: Mallory Hamilton

Perspective I think this photo is an example of perspective because the person who took this photo must have been at the same level or lower then the chair to add effect and show the building in the background. Owner: ghcheng85 License information: Attribution No Derivatives Photo Credit or URL: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ghcheng/12837931293/sizes/o/in/photostream/

Perspective I think this photo is a good example of perspective because the photographer purposely got down into a position that would give this photo this angle. This photo could’ve been taken at a straight-on level picture but the angle changes a lot in this picture. 4 Depth of Field I think this is a good example of depth of field because the subject of the photo, the frame with 2003 in it, is very sharp and clear in the photo. The background is very blurry compared to the subject. Owner: ramson License information: Attribution Non-Commercial Share Alike Photo Credit or URL: ramson via photopin cc

Depth of Field I think this photo is a good example of depth of field because the dog is very clear whilst the background is very blurry and out-of-focus. Owner: tomconger License information: Attribution Non-Commercial Photo Credit or URL: TomConger via photopin cc

Rule of Thirds This is a good example of rule of thirds because if you split the picture into thirds (vertically) that the line coming up from the ship would be almost exactly on the left third line. Owner: khalid-almasoud License information: Attribution Non-Commercial Share Alike Photo Credit or URL: khalid almasoud via photopin cc

Rule of Thirds I think this photo is a good example of rule of thirds because the buildings are on the left side and the buildings that are not as tall are in the bottom left quadrant of the picture once you drew the rule of thirds lines. Owner: pedrosz License information: Attribution Photo Credit or URL: szeke via photopin cc

Line (Leading Lines) This is a good example of line (or leading line) because the lines from the walls and ceiling draw your attention to the blue(ish) color a the end of the hallway. Owner: ivan_saracino License information: Attribution No Derivatives Non-Commercial Photo Credit or URL: Ivan Saracino via photopin cc

Line (Leading Line) This picture is a good example of line (or leading line) because the pillars that hold up the boardwalk lead your eyes up to the line of the boardwalk. The line of the boardwalk leads your eyes to the horizon, where the horizon line brings you to the sunset. Owner: mcdonaldc License information: Attribution No Derivatives Photo Credit or URL: Chad McDonald via photopin cc
