3. Bruce and Billy are two friends that want pet owls they live in Saskatchewan, Canada. They live in the city of Saskatoon where all the great prairies are. So Bruce and Billy walked through the prairie when they saw this crows nest. All there was in the nest was crow eggs so Bruce climbed up and put the eggs in his mouth so he would not harm the eggs. He fell off the tree and all the eggs broke in Bruce's mouth. the next thing Billy new Bruce was spitting out eggs. after that Billy and Bruce found another crows nest and inside were baby owls. But the mom was watching so we went to go get Billy and Bruce’s sixth grade teacher Mr. Miller.

4. When the two boys got home they asked Billy’s dad if they could have a pet owl he said ”No” because you already have too many Billy did not want too get on his dads bad side so he just got his sixth grade teacher too come and look at the baby’s and try too get one so the next morning Billy and Bruce got Mr. Miller and the two boys went too the prairie Mr. Miller climbed up the tree and said that’s just an old crows nest until he saw a huge great horned owl swooping down and it took his hat then at night he built a tree house too fool the mother owl but it did not fool her and we found Mr. Miller wiping dirt off his camera then he tried again it didn’t work and Mr. Miller said they were halfway grown so they were almost ready too fly.

5. The next week school started for Billy and Bruce and at recess they came up with plans too get the baby’s. The next day there was a terrible storm called a Chinook that went right across Saskatchewan. The next morning they ran right too the prairie too see if the baby’s were all right. They found three owls dead on the ground. But under the nest there was a baby owl as cold as a iceberg. Almost dead and very hungry so Billy took him home and named the owl Wol. the next morning Billy and Bruce had a hard time thinking about the owls. So when he got back home he went right to the owls. He put the owl in a chicken wired cage were he keeps all his gophers and pigeons the gophers were scared. Billy’s dad found out that he’s been keeping a owl in his room and the one who scared the cleaning lady away. Then his dad said” you can keep the owl just no more or I cook it and feed it too Mutt.

6. The next morning Billy woke up early Wol was in the cage sleeping in a little box in the cage. When Billy came down to the cage a gopher bit Wols leg and Wol FREAKED!. Wol ran over to Billy and gave a HOO HOO!. So after Wol had a tantrum Billy went for a walk. He saw these two kids throwing rocks into a can. He looked in the oil can and inside was a poor baby owl getting hit by rocks and was covered in oil. When a rock hit the baby it would make a whimper so he asked can I have this Owl he traded a scout knife for the owl. So Billy took him home gave him a warm bath and put him in the cage with Wol Billy named the owl Weeps. when Billy tried to pick up Weeps Wol would snap to scare Billy away. then Wol put his wing around Weeps then Billy’s dad found out that he got another owl and he freaked. his dad said” if you get one more owl all the owls will go bye bye OK” “OK” said Billy. Billy only wanted two owls.

7. School was almost over for the summer Billy could not stand thinking about what his owls were doing. when school was over Billy would pedal as fast as he could down the street and give a Hoo too let Wol and Weeps know that he was coming. when Billy opens the cage Wol would waddle out and climb up the back of a old lawn chair and take a big leap and try too land on Billy’s shoulder. The owls would eat dead gophers and once this guy brought them one for a present but the owls didn’t like there dinner raw.

8. When School ended this store sponsored a pet parade and a prize for the most interesting pet and the best presentation. Billy thought they could win dozens of prizes. they had two weeks too get ready. They started by making the circus cage when they finished it looked like the real ones. They painted it red blue and yellow. It was made out of chicken wire it kept the gophers from getting out. Murray Billy’s friend said they could put the cage on his wagon. The day before the parade they had everything ready. Billy borrowed some doll clothes too put on the owls they didn’t like it. then they painted Mutt and Rex striped like tigers.

9. When it was the day of the parade they were all ready. The owls looked very funny. Rex and Mutt looked like tigers. Bruce’s mystery pet were walking through the parade the president T.Eaton store said everybody come and see this mystery pet Bruce opened the box it was a rattlesnake it slithered out of the box everyone was screaming and running too get there pets and the Mounty yelled stop but everyone was gone Bruce picked up his rattlesnake and we all went home.

10. Mutt was very protective about weeps but didn’t really like Wol and when mutt was sleeping weeps would snuggle right into his paws Wol and mutt is another story Wol thought mutt was someone too be teased Wol plays a game called bone stealing he steals mutts bone and takes it on the roof so mutt will have a hard time not thinking about the bone another one of Wols games is the dinner stealing game in that game Wol comes swooping around the corner and when mutt goes too see what it was Wol will gobble up his dinner and when mutt comes back his dinner is gone another game he likes is the tail squeezing game when mutt is sleeping under the tree Wol very very very

11. slowly waddles over and then squeezes mutts tail and then fly’s up on too the roof and mutt will WOOF! loudly

12. Billy,Bruce and Murray have a cave down stream from the prairie were some hobos used too live right next too the swimming hole and on the holidays we take the owls too the cave and Billy try too teach the owls how too ride Billy’s handle bars once there at the cave they will go swimming Wol has never been swimming before he tried but he hated it well weeps would just stay in the cave all safe after Wol tried swimming he found a spot in the huge cottonwood tree the kids stayed at the cave until night when the big bully’s come out the next thing they new they herd snapping sticks

13. we herd you have a fort here and were here too take it over when one of the big kids took Bruces arm and started twisting it Wol looked like a ghost in the tree which scared the big boys away.

14. In Saskatoon Wol was known as the non scared owl in Saskatchewan the next morning are new minister came too are house for tea because my mom wanted too talk too him about me never going too church then Wol flew in on too his shoulder and the minister jumped up which scared Wol which made Wol go on his head when the minister ran out the door Wol hit his head on the door. Then the next morning before school my mom wanted me too walk too the grocery store too get some food then we ran into the mail man the mail man did not see Wol

15. so he kicked Wol right out of the way Wol didn’t really care about being hit and stuff but being kicked he did not like so he took his sharp beak and took a big bite at the mail man so from now on the mail man will yell too us too come get the paper because he is scared of Wol.

16. Two miles south of Saskatoon there was a place right in between were Billy and his family always canoe. they went to the lake one day and it was the first time bringing the owls. They got to the lake a half an hour later Billy helped his dad get the canoe off the car and put it in the water. Wol sat on Billy’s lap Weeps just sat in the canoe. then when they were getting closer too the other side of the lake there were some crows Wol’s biggest enemy. so he jumped and tried too bite one but he missed and landed in the water it was the swimming hole all over again. the next morning his dad was hunting the crows.

17. When Wol and Weeps turned three it was a very sad year for Billy because his father took a new job which meant he would have too move too Toronto, Canada. he could not bring his owls so he gave them too Bruce who moved too a fox farm Billy told Bruce and they made a cage for them and then Billy said Goodbye.

18. I thought that the book was pretty sad because Billy and Bruce move away from each other. I thought that the book was happy because Billy and Bruce find the owls. That’s why I give this book 5 STARS!
