1 Idaho Maternal, Infant & Early Childhood Home Visiting Program Idaho’s MIECHV Home Visiting Programs = MIECHV Home Visiting Program = MIECHV Service Area The Idaho MIECHV program contracts with four local organizations in Kootenai, Shoshone, Jerome, and Twin Falls counties to serve eligible women, infants, young children, and their families through evidence based home visiting programs (shown on the map to the left). 7 CHALLENGES AHEAD 22% of caregivers participating in home visits are men – Safety concerns: choosing an offsite location or asking “could you walk me to my car?” – Building on the strengths of both male and female caregivers, in addition to assessing risk. 70% of women who had a late completion of an RA are still enrolled – Rapport building: For some women, talking about IPV within 3 months can feel like too much too soon. 83% of the women who did not complete an RA are no longer enrolled – Retention: how can we better retain families with high needs?
