4 Similar Polygons Two polygons with the same number of vertices are similar if there is a one-to-one correspondence between the vertices of one and the vertices of the other such that the corresponding interior angles are congruent and corresponding sides are proportional. 5 Similar Triangles SSS Similarity for Triangles If corresponding sides of two triangles are proportional, then the triangles are similar. SAS Similarity for Triangles Given two triangles, if two sides are proportional and the included angles are congruent, then the triangles are similar. 16 Centroid of a Triangle A median of a triangle is a segment connecting a vertex of the triangle to the midpoint of the opposite side. A triangle has three medians. The three medians are concurrent. The point of intersection, G, is the center of gravity, or the centroid, of the triangle. The centroid of a triangle divides each median in the ratio 1:2.
