3 doc.: IEEE 802.11-07/xxxx Submission July 2007 Lei Du, DoCoMo Beijing Labs Slide 3 User satisfaction - describes how the application is perceived by the end-users. - is determined by E2E QoS parameters as defined in ITU-T G.1010 [1], including delay, delay jitter, packet loss rate, etc. ⇒ E2E QoS awareness needs to be considered in WLAN. Admission control - has been used to achieve QoS awareness. - is defined in 802.11e by using ADDTS request/response frame exchange. - takes into account of current traffic status within a BSS or multiple BSSs if the AP switch is deployed. ⇒ E2E QoS aware admission control will improve users satisfaction. (2/2) E2E QoS aware admission control may use an unified QoS aware parameter setting among heterogeneous access networks depending on the traffic classes. This unified parameter setting will improve the end- user satisfaction.
